Bows (germanium treble booster) into White Atom (hybrid fuzz) is a combo I really love. Naaaaasty, but also very articulate.
Also volume pedal + reverb/delay. Faking pedal steel with some pre-bending and working the JM vibrato is a big part of my guitar style.

Lately for me it's been the Retrosonic Flanger and my TCFlashback2 on the tape setting. Instant Summers-ville.

Not expected but DOD rubberneck into Eventide Space as if I need extra ambience but seriously goes well for modulation richness.

Re: Two great pedals that are even better together...
There are a few that I use in pairs.
The first time I ever heard a gain sound that was like the gain sound I wanted in my head was a Catalinbread Naga Viper > EQD The Dunes. I still use it a lot, but sometimes it's an EQD Westwood instead of The Dunes.
Catalinbread Echorec > Caroline Kilobyte
EQD Grand Orbiter > any gain
Caroline Parabola > Caroline Meteore

Dual delay setting of a Timefactor into and Eventide Space.
I was using the focus portion of the Keeley Loomer into a Walrus Slö. Made for some large atmospheres. I’ve since replaced the slö with a big sky.
A deluxe memory boy into the boss re-20 is good.
A small clone into a dd-3 and my old trinity reverb had some magic to it. Nothing fancy, but man I loved that sound

I’m digging my simple gain section, a v2 OCD and a spaceman titan II. The ocd does most of the heavy lifting but when I need things to blow up I kick the titan in and it’s magic!

Re: Two great pedals that are even better together...
One combo that just never sounds wrong is my rebuilt germanium Fuzz Face and the old Moogerfooger MF-104Z. If I could only have two pedals I think those would be the ones. The preamp on the Moog overdrives easily and melds together with dirt pedals. Kind of like running a fuzz into a cooking amp. It takes a standard sound and turns into something different.
