I've been looking at getting a digital delay to pair with my memory boy on the pedal board I'm building. Originally I was going to use the M5 as my main delay, but I was a little disappointed with some of the models compared to my memory of them, and am thinking of using it more for filters & mods, and between my drive pedals so I can do the shoegaze thing.
I like the sound of a lot of PT2399 delays, esp. the crazy stuff some of the modern boutique guys are doing. I saw a good price on the Demedash T-20, but it lacks tap tempo or expression jack, and the deluxe is out of my price range. The Caroline Kilobyte is in a similar position.
I've also been looking at the various multi effects - the DD200 was a forerunner for me for a while since it had options for "Drum" echo and of course the Tera Echo, but it's a bit of an unwieldly looking pedal and I'd prefer something smaller and (ideally) cheaper. If I was going for a Multidelay, a reverse delay would be nice but not necessary since I have the M5.
Basically looking for a digital delay that's relatively clear but goes lofi when cranked in a pleasing fashion, has tap tempo and options for mod.
Affordable quirky digital delays w/tap tempo?

Walrus audio ARP 87 has a really good sounding lofi delay. It’s tap only though, so no time control. I liked it but preferred analogue for that stuff anyway. I sold mine on as I have an awful looking Joyo digital delay that does crystal clear repeats. I’ll do the rest with a DMM or similar I think.
TC Electronic Flashback will do almost anything with the tone shift stuff, and their standard digital delay sounds great. Tap is on the same pedal as bypass, so you have to do the 3 second hold which is a PITA.

I got a second hand Emma Navigator this week. It can go from pretty pristine to very messed up.

I'm really liking the Wampler The Doctor so far, aside from the fun Doctor Who theming, it really nails and almost exaggerates that PT2399 sound, has tap tempo, subdivisions, modulation etc. only way it could be better for me would be if it was in a smaller form factor but I'll live. That said it's not the craziest delay I could get.
