I’ve been pretty happy with my Ennio from Ty Pierce.
I use it mostly for single note Spaghetti Western stuff, but it also sounds great with garage rock, very 60’s.
It’s based on the Maestro/Fuzzrite tones, and the three knob version has lots of flavors in it.
Solid construction too.
He sells on reverb, but prices are a bit better on TGP:

Re: Shadows Of Knight fuzz?
fuzzrite obsesive here ,i have made 2 the first was silicon standard and the second is an extrapolation off the fuzzrite in the mosrite amp with a tone knob ,
i have mount also the catalinbread merkin and it does the fuzzrite thing but more versatile less one trick pony
also on things i like the one knob fuzz ,the no knob fuzz (same but find it in wha fuzz )but the better off all my arsenal of fuzz is my tonebender mk3 germanium (home made)
my old original jen fuzz (vox tonebender) is pretty cool but pretty silly ,and i will not play with it on stage too much spécial and variable plus it catch lot of noise ambiant like pc ,neon, telephone,cb ect.....

Re: Shadows Of Knight fuzz?
Liked the youtube demos of merkin but bought "One Ton Bee" as their youtube clips sounded more pleasing to my ear.
Had a caitlinbread valcoder trem for a while but find them hard work as all my other pedals were 9v.

Re: Shadows Of Knight fuzz?
don't know the one tone bee but seems similar than merkin ,but beetween a merkin and a fuzzrite type for stage will choose a merkin for possiblity to move up the tone more ,rather in studio will choose a fuzzrite for the gnarly tone but sometime unusable on stage cause less volume than bypass

Really love this fuzzRITE clone from Del Rey CS!

I've long enjoyed this one from AshBass but I'm thinking of selling it, I just never use it with the Del Rey one sitting around.

Repaired this one for an In-Law who caught it as it was being thrown from the stage by a frustrated bass player in the early 70's. Good reason why as a few of the connections had come undone. I cleaned it up before sending it back.

Noodling last nite and thought that sounds familiar!!! so thought id revive your thread .MrShake wrote: ↑Tue May 17, 2022 4:44 am"Sixties fuzz" has never been a term that sat well with me. Too diverse, too many flavors. But when I think of it, I think of that post-stones, pre-psychedelia buzzsaw sound. And there are two examples that blow me away.
The Yardbirds' "Stroll On" is a monster. That chunky rhythm guitar is explosive. I don't know how things got from The Beatles on Sullivan to that in so short a time. And I figure that was a pair of Tone Benders through Vox amps giving up a death rattle. So, I know where to go to get in that arena if I want those shades.
The other is The Shadows Of Knight's "I'm Gonna Make You Mine". What a nasty sound. Here, if you dare:

They were from Chicago. Mid-'60s. All the photos I've seen of them indicate Gibsons and Rickenbackers.
Chicago means Gibson, 1966 means there are limited options for fuzz, and all that points to a Maestro FZ-1 or FZ-1A, right?
But... how?!?
If anyone has any inside info or anything, I'd love to finally find out somewhat officially. My jaw dropped when I heard that one in college.
Thanks in advance. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be looking up ways to get myself a Maestro.
Was on my modified strat playing with N/B series and bass cut on and it sounded dam close to the intro!
As previously stated, theyve been pictured with F Twins.
I was on my twin with a little verb and my mosrite clone "silicone" fuzz at 10.30.
To my ear that fuzz is mosrite all day.
