Boss GT-1000??
Does anyone here use the Boss GT-1000?? (regular or the Core)
I've been thinking about getting the Core unit.

No experience with the GT-1000 but my silent practice amp is a Pocket GT and I’m actually pretty impressed with it so I image the GT-1000 would be even better. Great reverbs.

Too funny I was just about to post in the Boss renaissance thread that my 1k Core just came in.OffYourFace wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 11:54 amDoes anyone here use the Boss GT-1000?? (regular or the Core)

Too early to post any review info but so far it sounds great and isn’t rocket science to navigate. I got it to free up space on my pedal board and lessen the toe dancing live. Similar concept to the Zoom Multi Stomp series that I had used for years but sorely needed more control for patch selection/manipulation. It’s replacing an H9 which is moving over to synth duties.

That's good to know. I'm looking forward to your review. Johnny Marr made me interested haha. I'm deciding between the GT-Core and the Line 6 HX FX

Ha! Ditto, I mean the man knows good gear right?OffYourFace wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 5:24 pmThat's good to know. I'm looking forward to your review. Johnny Marr made me interested haha. I'm deciding between the GT-Core and the Line 6 HX FX
The layout is similar to the Zoom’s which I’m already familiar with and the amps do sound really good. If looking strictly for effects and not amp emulation do know the amps can be looked at as amazing distortion pedals in their own right.
I haven’t explored the whole thing yet but I knew going in I’d likely put my favorite modulation pedals in one effects loop and my favorite fuzzes in the other.

haha nice, yes he does but he can make anything sound good tbh.
That's cool about the fx loops. It's so great that these companies added the loops.

Re: Boss GT-1000??
Same here. I’ve read there is some flack from users feeling the development was half baked. That said Boss came out with a new offering that seemed to check all the boxes in the Katana Go but it was almost immediately pulled from production from what might have been parts sourcing. It is said they are going to re-release a new version of it but there’s no info as to when that might happen?
I do like the idea of it plugging directly into the guitar jack aka one less cable, and with Bluetooth to stream online tutorials through it. Another that’s similar and gets great reviews is the Fender Mustang Micro. I might go that direction but I’m still comparing what’s out there.

It’s not the real thing but being able to play along with YouTube is nice and I also use it to test guitars I buy off CL in random parking lots so it’s handy in more than one way. My girlfriend uses it while she learns bass and the bass presets are pretty solid as well. Worth the price, imo.

I was going to say, good enough for Marr….
Didn’t he have a diamond comp > GT 1000 core board for a while? Seems elegantly small.

Re: Boss GT-1000??
Indeed. Lately he’s been sporting a 1k Core usually with two other pedals that rotate out depending on the gig.cestlamort wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 6:53 pmI’ve been curious as well.OffYourFace wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 5:47 pmhaha nice, yes he does but he can make anything sound good tbh.

I'm seeing him with James on Friday! Don't think I'll be able to check his pedalboard though.OffYourFace wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 7:54 pmi think Marr was using two carl martin drive pedals, the plexi one and the ac one, and using the compression in the GT-core. but who knows
