The Hotone Krush is a great glitchy bit crusher, that also does an awesome vibrato. I got mine cheap when they were discontinued, but they're still around.

I have a couple of vintage Micro Flangers, not noisy at all.

Yes like early run vintage with that sought after SAD chip. And... I did all that!OffYourFace wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2024 6:35 pmThe vintage ones? There's an easy fix, usually. Although, everyone has a different opinion of what 'noisy' is.B.T. wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2024 5:56 pmAnd the OG is noisy as fuck.cestlamort wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2024 11:03 am
I’ve grown really fond of my micro flanger. It does a good impression of what I like from its bigger sibling (although not all, but most of what I want), is way cheaper and way lighter too. (The big one is a brick)![]()
You gotta replace the main filter cap and the little tantalum caps. Sometimes the trimmers need to be re-calibrated too. It's still the best Flanger IMO. I don't use mine much but when I do it's rewarding.

It's definitely quieter than when I first got it but it's still noisy. But yeah it's a close contender for the goat of flangers for me to.

Oh ok, then you know. Analog modulation pedals are always noisy to a degree. I guess it's pretty noisy compared to modern effects. The oldest pedal on my board atm is an early '90s blue label Boss CH-1 Super Chorus. I love that pedal. It's pretty quiet compared to an old CE-2 and BF-2.

I don't know if it's niche, enough bassists I know swear by them, but, my submission would be the Boss OBD-3, but for guitar.
For maybe 15 years, it's been may go to for stupid metal tones, but it can do so much more. You take for granted a voume and gain control, but there's a 2-way EQ by way of a stacked pot that makes it more versatile than you expect or deserve, plus a clean blend, which is a proper luxury for heavy, silly guitar tones.

Pretty much everything from Vintage Technologies falls in to this category. Most are no knob boxes, a few of them have one knob. I think only one pedal offers 2 knobs in the whole line. They're all built by Traci Sands of Matchless/Bad Cat when he has time/feels like it and he builds a few and throws them out in to the world on reverb at this point. I've owned a few and still have an Orange Sunshine, one of my dearest fuzzes.
Simple AF and sounds glorious and unhinged. Relatively cheap too, I think they sell new for around $150.

Kinda similar to a Univox Companion Fuzz, pretty full EQ, gnarly fuzz and a slight octave in there. They're based off a 60's Vox Booster circuit IIRC.

They're Vox Distortion Booster circuits, which are fuzz face topology.

Maneco "Sweet 16" -- It's an EHX 16 Second Delay clone. Do you want to be Nels or Fripp? Well, here's your chance. It even has the continuous bypass recording feature. I had one for a year or so, sold it, then I bought another one. Kinda lo-fi, definitely weird, lots of fun for making soundscapes.

Death By Audio Reverberation Machine. It has a tone switch and three knobs, but it is pretty much a one-trick lo-fi fuzz/verb.
It's neither a wide ranging reverb pedal nor a dial-it-in-just-right fuzz. Its trick is to sound like a solid state reverb-equipped amp on the fritz. But it's a musical fritzyness. "Don't fix it! Don't touch anything! It's just right!"

Audio Disruption Devices LAG delay. Has a bunch of knobs but is basically a lofi background delay bed to play over.
Pretty much every 29 pedals box. The overdrive can technically do multiple things but with the tiny unmarked knobs and odd letter/number switches, you find the good sound and leave it there.

Aclam seems to do nothing but niche pedals - pretty much everything they offer either nails some elusive thing you've been searching for for years so you have to have it, or you don't understand what the point of it is or why anyone would want it
