Oh crap, you bought that from me! I’d have given you an OSG discount if I’d realised :(

They are cool & really easy to dial in a nice sound. I definitely prefer a warmer flanger sound like the EHX so my BF-2 is up for sale as well.
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

Wow it is a small world!!!! :D

No probs at all, it is a really cool pedal...I basically have one swirly/modulation slot on my board, usually in the shape of the DC-2, but wanted to see if this could unseat it for a while. :)

If you are looking for a warm flange i strongly recommend the Retro-Sonic flanger. I went through quite a number of flangers in my search, but this one stuck. It's not your ‘jet plane’ style, but more of a warm chorusy thing.

My dad has a DM-2w that sounds very nice to my ears and is easy to dial in. My only Boss pedal right now is an SD-1, which gets me that classic mid-heavy OD/crunch, and can boost an amp or other pedals nicely.

I don't even know how many delay pedals I've been through at every price point but the DM-2w is just great. Period. It just sounds really good and is easy to dial in.

I just bought a spare of a pedal I already own, and obviously it's of the only Boss I have !

The new band has a song which needs a really precise delay, found a used DD-7 with the tap tempo expression thing for cheap-ish so I can keep my old one where the delay time wobbles around for the noise things and use the new one for the precise stuff, funny to see how much it has faded over the years.

I will dig into it over the weekend, but I did test it quickly yesterday and really liked it. :-*

As expected, it is clear sounding...has that hi-fi thing going on...it is definitely easier to dial in than the TZF2 I had which was a monster of a flanger! :D
Nice, I still have an HF-2. Boss designed it for keyboards. it sounds amazing in the FX loop of my '74 Fender Rhodes.

MrShake is a big fan of the HF-2, he’ll probably have some cool/interesting suggestions of how to use it with fuzz/keyboards/drum machines 8)

I will say my favorite boss pedal is the long chip dd-2. Every time I sell mine I end up hunting another down. They seem to be inexpensive and plentiful on the used market these days! Bonus!

I could be wrong, but I seem to recall reading that early PS-2s and also the DSD-2 have the coveted long chip in them. Or am I misremembering?

My DSD-2 does have a long chip inside, don't know if there is different versions of the chip though.

I should open mine up and check. Pretty sure the 'long chip' is the same long chip found in the DD-2 and also the micro-rack delay from around the same time. Maybe all the fuss is over the fact that it's also the secret sauce in one of the full-size Roland rack units?

The earlier MIJ DD-3s have got the long chip as well.

There's some info on the various versions of the DD-3 HERE
