Here's my little all-Boss Pedaltrain Metro 16 I put together recently:

Really cool board! Love the modded DD-7

What are those low-profile cables?
They're EBS flat gold patch cables. A bit expensive, but they're worth it imo, they sound great and they're real space savers on a tight board like this. The regular (non-gold) version is nice as well and a bit cheaper, but the plugs on the gold ones is a millimeter or so smaller.
I use them for my boards since a few years. The tiniest cables I could find so far and nevertheless reliable.

Awesome. Thanks. I will check those out.

I'll also second the EBS Flat as the gold-standard for patch cables now. I own 20-30 of them (mostly regular and a few gold) and have been using them for about 6 or more years. I still am yet to have one even remotely fail on me and they are insanely low profile.

10/10 would recommend.
Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

Thanks to Firecat, SonicJazz and Johnny I ordered some EBS flat golds for my Boss board. I have two other types of cheaper patch cables that have issues with a few of the pedals on this board. No issues at all with EBS ones. 100% of the time, it works every time. :). Here's my board as I was playing tonight. BTW, Boss reverse delay is so much fun. It's like instant shoegaze.

Can those cables be used for the Boss stereo pedals? The (Ernie Ball) pancake ones I bought are nice and compact for fitting pedals closer together, but the jack sockets are too close together on RV-6 etc to use them. On an earlier picture it looks as though the EBS are suitable for stereo, but I'll ask for confirmation first this time! Thanks guys.

How do you use your SL-2 Slicer? Anything in particular, or just experimenting?

Yes, they will, the plugs aren't much bigger than the jack output:

They even fit together on the back of the small strymon pedals. Here's my (dusty) El Capistan for reference. You can also see the difference in size between the gold and the regular plugs (in this case a regular stereo cable, but I think the regular mono cables are the same):

I promise I don't work for EBS by the way, just a big fan of these patch cables :D :D

And looks how FUCKING TIDY it looks too!! :-* cable management is definitely a kink of sorts :D :D

I love the way Boss pedals line up the way they do.

I'm definitely not getting as much out of the slicer as I can. I'm using it primarily as a multipattern trem, which it is very cool for. It's goatkeeper-esque. I haven't dived too deep into the sample / delay based or "SFX" modes yet.

Hahaha... yes mine is being used about the same. I find the other modes fun to play around with, but remembering which is which? Without the list in front of me, it's like my synths: lots of great sounds but no idea where they are so I hardly use them. Even then, the names aren't always helpful.

But it is a great upgrade on the TR-2!

So....apologies if I've asked this before, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that the Slicer will do panning tremolo, effectively rendering crazy-priced PN-2 GAS (PAS?) dead in the water, especially given all its extra features.

Can you, or anyone else who has tried one, confirm or deny this?
