Re: Analogman!
Can I ask those here which would be the best one for that 90's fuzzed-out chords sound? You know, the one that wraps around your ears like a fuzzy blanket but doesn't get too garbled-up in the process. The wealth of options on his website is insane.

Not specifically. And, annoyingly, I can't think of any off the top of my head that I don't already know are just a Big Muff processed enough that they don't disappear in the mix.
Basically, what I want is a fuzz that behaves like my old Rat with chords but further into the fuzz world than distortion. Kinda Tonebender IV-ish sounds

Yeah, annoyingly/embarrassingly I found that on his site just a minute after I posted that reply I didn't know he did a version of that model. I had an old Mk IV that thicker sounding than any Bender I'd used before. Maybe the transistors were extra hot or biased weird, I dunno, but it sounded like the forefather of a Muff.terminalvertigo wrote: ↑Thu Feb 17, 2022 6:49 amhttps://www.buyanalogman.com/Analog_Man ... rmk-iv.htm

Done and done. Ordered a couple of pedals while I was there. It's about time I tried some of Mike's stuff - I've somehow avoided it for 20 years

Re: Analogman!
I actually joined the KoT wait list in 2010, and then totally forgot for a literal decade.
I've had a few of his pedals, I currently have a CV7005 sunface (mil spec NKT) high gain KoT, and a Amaze dual delay.

Haha! I think I've been on the list for a couple of years. I expect I'll forget about it too.

Yeah, the Sunbender MKIV is right up that alley and is just pretty awesome.johnnysomersett wrote: ↑Thu Feb 17, 2022 12:55 amCan I ask those here which would be the best one for that 90's fuzzed-out chords sound? I've had a couple of KoT's direct from AnalogMan but always ended up selling them when prices seemed to reach some kind of stupid fever pitch. My name came up again this past summer and I got my final one and in gold no less! Maybe I'm more likely to hold onto this one knowing I can't order one from AnalogMan anymore and I'll never pay the used market for one.
The used-AnalogMan-pedals-selling-for-way-over-new-prices-but-still-available-after-a-two-week-wait thing is just opportunists fishing for morons/lazy people/super impatient people. I got perma-banned from TGP* for saying the white KoT wasn't really that rare as you could currently buy them new that way from AnalogMan if/when your name comes up. Someone was selling one listed for US $1k because it's rare.

Re: Analogman!
4. AnalogMan now limits people to buying 4 KoT to discourage scalpers and resellers.

Re: Analogman!
I can't imagine anyone needing 4 of those who WOULDN'T be scalping them. I mean honestly -- if you really needed 4 right now I'm willing to bet you can afford the inflated resale price because your boss is John Mayer or something.
Hell. If he dropped it down to 1 apiece that list would probably be done in a year.

Re: Analogman!
I can get behind it. I could see the possibility of a musician who's a fan wanting them on multiple boards. Having said that, aside from a Metal Zone 4 does seems to be a lot of one pedal to have.stevejamsecono wrote: ↑Thu Feb 17, 2022 7:34 pmI can't imagine anyone needing 4 of those who WOULDN'T be scalping them. Re: Analogman!
I mean, this is my 4th one and I'm def not a scalper. Through just the normal ebb and flow of GAS, I've loved KoT's and fallen for other drives in time and sold them off but like I said, I will absolutely not pay the used market for what KoT's are going for. Even through the ebb and flow, I plan to hold on to this one.stevejamsecono wrote: ↑Thu Feb 17, 2022 7:34 pmI can't imagine anyone needing 4 of those who WOULDN'T be scalping them. Re: Analogman!
It has now been a few months on and these pedals have seen a lot of use. The Sun Face and Beano have become two of my go to sounds. I almost always use one or the other, or both. I am now probably going to put in an order for a Sun Lion (with the old hand stamped graphics ) to combine them and have it built a little bit differently from what I already have. I would like the range on the Beano to be his bass tuned version. Right now I only use the mid setting. the bass tune starts there and goes more full range for the other two positions. Doing that, I can probably slim my board down some by being able to do both mid and full range boost with one pedal. For the Sun Face, I am thinking about doing med-high gain GE transistors. I really like the high gain BARTs that I have now but think something a little bit lower gain might be a little simpler to get the sounds I want more easily. I am generally backing the guitar's volume down and the fuzz on the pedal a fair bit to tame it it and bring in some extra clarity. It's not a problem but it would be a little easier for me if I could get away with doing each one a bit less. Mainly when turning the Sun Face off and turning on a different pedal that has different requirements. At any rate, I absolutely love every one of the Analogman pedals that I already have and won't be parting with any of them. I am only looking to expand my stash!
