Looks good, very clean! I need to get my board that straight.

I’ve always been fascinated with the Tera Echo but never tried one. I hope one pops up cheap on CL someday.

Bassman 100 always is sexy.
Thanks! Don't let the photo fool you, they're only as straight as the piece of wood I used will allow - somewhat of a scrap board, pedals notwithstanding.

And by all means, if you have any interest in the Tera Echo, try one. I've found it to be one of my favorite pedal purchases in a while. It's just so responsive to what you give it that it's a ton of fun to play, and you can set it subtly and use it in a lot of settings. I don't think I saw a demo that really illustrated what I like about it, and what it can do is really wild, but it can be deployed a lot of ways - not just a one trick pony.

Messing about with the new Funny Little Boxes: Dirt (bet you can’t guess the sound it’s aimed at) & a £40 Fuzz War clone I picked up.

Also bought a cheapo volume control and trying backwards stacking, so taking away rather than adding. I’m using the GE-7 to give me some extra heft with the Tele vs a Les Paul without changing the amp settings . Fun!

Hell of a setup, my friend. How do you like that Fuzz War clone? I love DBA, I love the Supersonic Fuzz Gun, and always kinda wanted to try what I've heard is something vaguely like an "out of control Big Muff".

This pleased me greatly today. The ooolllld CE-2 and new diamond comp are recent additions, and the two together are instant Johnny Marr, only without the technical ability

I'm not sure about this clone - I'd definitely agree with the out of control big muff. Videos of the real fuzz war sound better than this seems to. I need to play with it more by itself; try a few different amps/settings & guitars to figure it out. Right now I think the Balls Galaxian is a better bet - that's based on the Roland Bee Baa & does a similar thing, but somehow seems to have more clarity. Might have to do a shoot-out of those two!

Bring it on!

All this Boss stuff has had me twiddling with stuff I've let sit a bit too long. It's delightful.

I've learned I hate "loose" pedals, generally. If I have something not in a good spot on a board, I'm unlikely to use it as much. And I absolutely hate "borrowing" a pedal from a well-balanced rig, I get tweaky until it's back where it belongs.

And I don't wanna go buying more pedals just to fill out boards. I've got ENOUGH.

There are exceptions. A Fuzz Face, a Big Muff, a few other buzzes, etc.

But I've had a few "intentional" Boss Strays because they're good to be able to throw down before or after a board, or pair with something else loose like a Rat or NYC Big Muff. A DF-2, as a feedback generator first-in-chain. An RV-2 for pre-dirt wall of sound or end-of-board ambience baths. And a BF-2, because, well, my HF-2 is driving that spot for a while, and it's good to have a purple flanger to grab.

Pairing those with a DSD-2 (my second one is still in the mail, but it's gonna be the one to live on this little board), gave me a little setup that wildly exceeded my expectations.

DF-2 Super Feedbacker
BF-2 Flanger
DSD-2 Digital Sampler/Delay
RV-2 Digital Reverb

Basics, right? Gain-modulation-delay-reverb. Tried and true. Leaner than my usual boards, but what came out was top-tier. It sounded great, I got totally lost. Long Chip delay tone, that RV-2 plate setting, aw man it hit the spot. And, pretentiously, an all-'80s Boss Board.

But! There's a hidden layer of versatility- The DF-2 gives me the feedback/oscillator to play with, the flanger also pretty much has chorus and "extreme" settings in addition to the whoosh. The DSD-2 has that sequencing capability I've been banging on about lately.

This is a mighty little board.

My current board for december gigs :D I wonder whether the whammy will break again - I've taken it out three times, and it broke down twice. I love how it sounds tho and it's perfect for this art-rock band band I'm playing one gig with :?
Check out my band, The Atavists ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eG-HZtrljMg

The thing thats making this photo punk is it's entire being.

The guitar, a rare model that no one gives a fuck about, thats been carved for a humbucker and a bigsby screwed to the top and beat to hell. Old SS 70s amp that's loud as balls and evisceratingly brash sounding into a beat to shit hellcab with a sm58 smashed into the grille. Thats right over the fucking space heater. And there's broken shit everywhere. And the room definitely smells fucking weird.

And Pat's in there behind the camera, a dude in his 40's who still plays music like he's in his teens, and doesn't give a fuck.

Delightful.

480 there is also 481, different inlays, pickups, pickguard, and sometimes slanted frets.

Aaah man you make me blush and laugh  :-*
Thanks man.
And yes, it is quite smelly in there...

I screwed the Duesenberg vibrato onto the 480 myself. Big fan of the LesTrem, so it was the option. Since it's been modded before, well it was a no brainer... :P
