What software editor? I didn't think there was one.

Re: The Zoom MS-70CDR gets even better
I manipulate the patches with the knobs in real time, but then I set them to scroll through the patches that I want to use with the footswitch as A, B, etc.
There's also a free program call Zoomlib (I think i'ts called) that will allow you to back up your settings as a file on your computer, and I think load the different files in & out.
*edit - I wasn't aware of a software editor, either.

They are stupidly good value for money. For less than the price of a Boss chorus you get 80+ effects, so even if you only use 3 or 4 of them you've still saved money!Yeatzee wrote:Quite the bang for the buck

Re: The Zoom MS-70CDR gets even better
I updated mine last night, it went pretty fast, really. I looked at the new list, I like how they kept everything and put stars next to the new effects. I haven't checked any of them out yet, but I plan to tonight or tomorrow. Even if only 1/4 of the new effects are decent, it's worth it. I really need to get a 2nd one of these, it is so much bang for the price, especially now.
*edit: the program is zoomlib that allows you to backup your patches into a file, and the various files can be swapped in and out on the pedal. It's free.

This thing is only $120 new? Why do I not have one yet?

Re: The Zoom MS-70CDR gets even better
Yes, and you should get one. I need another one, it's so cool. Some effects aren't that great, although in some cases, neither are what they're trying to emulate, but then some are very good. It takes some time to set it all up, but having that much at your fingertips in such a small pedal is pretty cool.
And it can give you or someone else a good idea of the different pedals that it emulates, to see whether you'd like the real version of it or which ones to make sure you don't buy.

I only use mine MS-100 at home (I don't think these pedals are too great for too much stage work due to not liking having to change settings on the fly). It allows you to screw around with so many fun sounds you'll never be able to find/afford/bother with.

Re: The Zoom MS-70CDR gets even better
That's true, I don't know that I would trust something like that on stage, at least not without some kind of outboard controller. It's built like a tank and has lots of good effects, but it's not the easiest/trustiest thing to control as it is, especially if you mess up the patch and have to scroll to get back to it.
I use mine mostly when I travel - that and a halfway decent distortion pedal are all you really need, with a small amp or headphones. I use a modded DS-1 for the distortion because I'm bringing my cheapest stuff out on the road with me, witha cheap ($200) Ibanez electric guitar and a Marshall MG10 amp (I think it is), so that if some or all of it somehow "disappears" from my hotel room, losing that stuff will hurt the least.

Re: The Zoom MS-70CDR gets even better
I just got one of these. Spent a few hours testing the effects yesterday and so far I'm impressed. Most of the chorus, delay and reverb models sound pretty good to me. I don't really care for the filter effects as I probably won't be using them anyway.
My only disappointment is the shimmer reverb. I have a strymon bluesky and I can't get it to sound similar. The zoom shimmer sounds much more digital, not as smooth as the bluesky. If anyone has a nice shimmer setting, please let me know!
What other effects do you use? And what settings? Let's share!

Re: The Zoom MS-70CDR gets even better
New update for the MS 70 CDR & MS 60 B, to v 2.1
Seems to be just a stabilization update, no new fun stuff.

I agree that the shimmer verb isn’t all that great on this. A lot of makers have their own versions, and some are better than others.Filipe wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2018 4:09 amI just got one of these. Personally, my preferences in what I’ve tried are the hall setting on the Keeley Realizer/Loomer and the shimmer setting(s) on the Neunabor Seraphim/Immerse pedals.
I’ve gone in and done some edits on the settings of some of the different effects that I’ve stacked, but it’s been a while.
As I remember, some of my favorites to start with were the EP-3, 63 vibe, trem -pan, sound EFX, blue marble, one of the pads (gtr strings or pad guitar), mangle ice and monument.
Using those, and then maybe bringing in or swapping other interesting individual effects is a good place to start.
I use a program called zoomlib to store patches, and I think they have a forum for sharing patches. Otherwise, emailing patches as attachment is the only other way I can see, besides typing out a shitload of info on the patches.

Re: The Zoom MS-70CDR gets even better
How are the tremolo and phaser effects? I'm still thinking about one for bass. I was looking for a phaser and a tremolo for bass, but the option of using one of these with so much in them really intrigues me...

pretty good. You got a few tremolos, some stereo, and a pan effect. There are like 3 phasers, one pretty meat and potatoes, and a couple of fancier ones. one is stereo so it kinda plays at the old ibanez flying pan phaser thing.
This is an excellent rectangle

Ooh yeah. How about the delays? Decent? Delay is another pedal for bass I haven't been able to nail down.mackerelmint wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2020 6:47 pmpretty good.
