Older Deluxe Memory Man

Post by Infliktor » Wed Nov 15, 2006 8:02 pm

I sent my echoplex off today to be "fixed up".....May take a little while

I have an older gently used  DMM on its way to me. It has a permanent power cord.

I guess the newer ones have a detachable cord with a transformer wall wart thingy.

Someone told me these older ones like I purchased hum quite a bit?...... Is that true? Should I just pop for a new one?

Ah, yes, my new one is noisy too, but less so with the vibrato/chorus dialed out.
I prefer their older stuff.

I used to have an old Deluxe Memory Man (The fixed power cable type)

I might have been unlucky but mine was so noisy i couldn't use it in the studio  :'(

.................In the end i got rid of it.

I've had a few different DMM's and one of the chord versions I had hummed and severely lacked headroom, the other functioned fine. The non chord ones I've had were ok too aside from one being a bit hissy.. the book on DMM's (imo) are they sound great but you have to pick through a few to find the right one or in your case hope for the best
