POLL: best tremolo pedal
Tremolo pedals can be testy beasts. What is your preference? Why?

the stereo pulsar is cool for trem from vintage trem, square wave trem and thru to ring mod sounds and in stereo it sounds really cool. its cheap, reliable and it sounds better than any other trem imo.

You don't have the two best tremolos on the market on your list. The cusack tap-a-whirl and the empress tremolo. Both of these units are outstanding, and pretty much impossible to beat on quality.

Re: POLL: best tremolo pedal
my favorites weren't on the list one for a very good reason.. it's the Moog Ring Mod which can do some fantastic tremolo sounds
the other is the Boss PN-2, great panning and very machine like choppy trem that has a great way of sitting over your tone without being too much or too little
and the other is a Lovetone Wobbulater clone made by Dirk Hendrik, I've never played the real thing but Dirks version was a lot of fun to play with and had great tones. I like the idea of the Empress for the same feature of the Wob clone, duel trem.. love it!

Re: POLL: best tremolo pedal
I always liked the Dano tuna melt, it sounds great for that classic 60ties tremolo and it's cheap. Although the knobs and casing could be a LOT better....But it surf's it purpese well....
Although I haven't tried a great deal of the others. I found the Boss (Green one) to stiff sounding for mu use. Although nothing really beats the Brownface Fender vibrato imo.

I've the Dano..I've never tried the others..I'd probably buy the EHX in the future..the Guyatone seems great for the price too but anyone has it..

I love my TR-2. It gets all the sounds that I want, and I've used to volume drop to my advantage. Plus, the "rate" control is in just the right position to be altered with my feet while I'm playing

Re: POLL: best tremolo pedal
From all the clips I've listened to the Caitlinbread and Empress seem to be the coolest but clips aren't everything so I'll refrain from voting. I own a Throb and it's okay but can get lost in the mix a bit especially when using some fuzz into it.

Re: POLL: best tremolo pedal
Other trems: there are lots of cool other trems being mentioned here! I was trying to keep the poll limited to pedals currently in production and under $200 retail, but I might add a few more to the list later this afternoon.

I'm more than happy with mine.
They're making a cool looking Delay pedal that I may end up getting too.

Re: POLL: best tremolo pedal
Zvex Seek-Trem for me.
it opened up so many different possibilities.
when it comes to traditional trem sounds, I'd rather use an amp.

Re: POLL: best tremolo pedal
That's what is nice with the Empress: you have extra trem patterns a la seek-trem preset (which makes it easier to use live.. you don't need a mag-lite and 15 minutes to tune it) and you also have traditional tremolo .. with tap tempo.zhivago wrote: Zvex Seek-Trem for me.

I saw the delay pedal today: sounds very promising... but I'm a little bit afraid about the price.PorkyPrimeCut wrote:+1.k o y l wrote: I voted other because the best to me is the Empress Tremolo.
