If I was playing more effects heavy music I’d be more into it.
Maybe they’ll eventually make a two button version.

cool idea depending on the price point, some of the pedals from that series are well regarded. i can see having it as a second or third rig around the house, or for taking over to a friend's house to jam or something when you don't want to tote a bunch of stuff.
interesting to see Scott Ian has reimagined the noise gate. hopefully it entails a hard gate that cuts off his sound entirely

The Toneprint line is extremely good. I used a Flashback X4 for about two years and I really regret selling it. This thing is clearly aimed at folks like me who want options, but are cutting down the size of their board.dc wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 8:57 amcool idea depending on the price point, some of the pedals from that series are well regarded. i can see having it as a second or third rig around the house, or for taking over to a friend's house to jam or something when you don't want to tote a bunch of stuff.

Re: TC ELECTRONIC PLETHORA X5 - This thing rules too hard
I typically find that most “all in one” pedals lack in places or overall, but I could see TC doing good job at it, especially with their toneprint stuff. I’ve never used it, but I’ve read some good things about them.
I do have a couple of their Nova pedals that I bought a long time ago (15 years?), the mod and the reverb, and those are pretty good for what they are. Lots of choices, and a lot of them are really good, especially on the mod.
i think it’s smart that they put everything but dirt on that thing, because distortion/OD and fuzz is usually where a lot of these types of pedals suffer the most, and preferences for all of those are so varied from one person to the next. The toneprint is a smart way to go, since it seems proven, and I’m assuming it’s the same download/upload “patches” as the others were.
Did you get one yet?

It's a boost booster, to boost your boost - it makes your tone much muchier.

Re: TC ELECTRONIC PLETHORA X5 - This thing rules too hard
The toneprint line stuff I’ve used has been fun (alter ego delays, trinity reverbs) but I was both annoyed and impressed with the app interface (fax new preset to pedal via phone and pickups? Cool! Have it crash and not work without an Internet connection so I had to walk out into the street to download apps while recording? Not so cool. This was a few years ago so may have improved).
Lots of cool features (switching order of effects!) and not unreasonable for 5 active effects and a big library. Could be a fun around the house or travel board. And always fun to run 5 delays in a row.

Not yet, they aren’t listed for sale, but I’m definitely getting one. I loved my Flashback and I have a Mini HOF that is great if your amp doesn’t have reverb or if you want to use it as more of an effect. I love the fact it’s a multi-effect that skips drives because fits my goal of a all-in-one pedalboard that isn’t prohibitively heavy.somanytoys wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 5:48 pm

Also, the Toneprint presets are REALLY REALLY good. I have never dialed in a sound on a Toneprint pedal, just found a delay or reverb preset in the library and loaded it. I know that sounds lazy, but I like the ease of use.

Exactly my thought. They always release varying sizes of these pedals. A three or a two button version of this pedal would be so ideal.marqueemoon wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 7:02 amIf I was playing more effects heavy music I’d be more into it.

Yeah Tore left for Universal Audio i do believe.

If a two or 3 button version were to hit at around $200 I’d be interested.thisisnickpaige wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2020 8:48 amExactly my thought. They always release varying sizes of these pedals. I don’t have H9 money and I don’t need something that full featured.

Exactly, something simple to take the place of the higher end effect pedals, but for a better price point. It would be much simpler than the others, but the price tag will hopefully reflect that.

Re: TC ELECTRONIC PLETHORA X5 - This thing rules too hard
I’ll happily grab a used one in a year or so - a 2 or 3 effect version would be amazing for me, maybe $250?
Never adored my flashback2 or HoF2, but they were quite cool. Throw the Brainwaves, Corona, Shaker, and hyper gravity and I can’t say no.
It also has a DI in (for recording) and a built-in tuner.
I mean c’mon now.
I can move my delay, tuner, Reverb, and chorus for this thing.
