TS-10 Tube Screamer -my very first pedal in the 80’s.

WH-1 Whammy - early 90’s pawn shop find for $50. As soon as I found out The Edge had one I had to have it.

Opamp Big Muff - chasing Siamese Dream tones. It left me underwhelmed and then it just left me altogether.

Bubble Font Green Russian Big Muff & Small Stone Phaser - they were so cheap back when they were new in the 90’s. Everyone had them.

Fender Fuzz Wah - my uncle gave this to me and I was just a dumb kid and thought it was broken. No that’s just what a killer fuzz sounds like.

TC 2290 Delay - I had this in the early 2000’s. What a sound!

Boss pedals - too many to mention. I had a sick set of them in mid 90’s when I went through my Dave Navarro thing. SD-1, BD2, TR2, OC2, CE2, DD2. Probably all MIJ.

Blues Breaker pedal - I actually just picked this one up recently. It’s a first revision V1 made in the UK (the warmer sounding one). Of everything on this list, this is the only one I still have. It’s a sad tale. 😢

my first effects pedal was:
russian big muff pi. green box. regret trading it for a digital delay.

have owned:
Rat - big box, proper chip. did not like it
Vox Valvetone - tubescreamer clone, loved it
Fuzz Face - not my bag
Mu-Tron III - original. cool, but didn't need it.
EHX DMM - one with ac cord, RI with ac adaptor. my favorite.
Boss DM3 - didn't like it compared to the memory man. sold it.
Tel Ray - oil can delay unit. awesome.
Fender 63 RI reverb unit - my favorite effect.
Boss DD-5 - decent digital delay
Vox Clyde Wah - eh. it's a wah. i'm more into sweepable eq filter pedals.

that's it for the "classics". i haven't owned a lot.

An interesting question!
Those I've had (that I can remember!) in brackets, those I own, without brackets:

Fuzz - (Fuzz Face, Tonebender, Little Big Muff, Shinei Fuzz/Wah) Big Muff, Boss FZ-2 + various 'non-quintessential'
Distortion - (Boss DS-1) Rat + 'others'
Overdrive - (Tube Screamer, 70's EH Hot Tubes) Boss Sd-1, Nobels ODR-1, EH Soul Food ( ;) ) + others
Phaser - (70's Jen, Pearl) Phase 100 (x2 early 80's & modern), Fender Classic re-issue (x2)
Flanger - (Morley) late 70's Electric Mistress Deluxe, Japanese BF-2
Chorus - I've always been faithful to my Ibanez BC9 that I bought new in 1984. I hate most other chorus pedals!
Vibrato - I own a Danelectro Chicken Salad! However, the BC9 has a vibrato alongside the chorus
Univibe - Nope
Ring Modulation - Had a couple but nothing 'classic'
Tremolo - (Vox Repeater, Boss PN-2, Boss TR-2) I have a supply of Boss PN-2s
Octave - (Pearl, Boss OC-2, POG) EH Micro POG
Pitch shift - none
Analog Delay - Arion SAD-1
Tape Echo - (1961 WEM Copicat)
Digital Delay - (Ibanez DD1000... not really a classic though!) Strymon Timeline, Strymon El Capistan, EH SMM with Hazarai
Spring Reveb - only in amps
Digital Reverb - (Quadraverb II, Quadraverb III, Quadraverb IV) Boss FRV-1 (x2)
Synth/Filters (Microsynth, POG, HOG, Some Roland thing) none
Compressor- Boss CS-1 (x2), Boss CS-2, VFE White Horse
and I'll add
Wah - (EH Zipper) Early 80's JEN, Vox 487, 80's Cry Baby

I think that covers 'the classics(ish)'

do rip offs count because the only one i really have is an EHX big box small stone!

I have rat clones (plural), modded a TS7, modded a fuzz face heavily (as in HEAVYly), a TC dimension C, super fuzz diy, shin e companion diy, mooer ocd clone. maybe my cheap delay is a bit like a memory man because my memory man (w/hazarai) is not a memory man. I had a blues-driver and a marshall drivemaster at some point. I have the yamaha spx effects, except they are on an a4000 sampler i get out only occasionally!

Echoplex EP-3 and a Klon (KTR). Both are super solid but the EP-3 becomes more of a hassle than anything else so I eventually sold it.

I'll just stick with the ones that I have currently...

Fuzz - I have over 30 of these. I'll just give some highlights; Berkos 3rd Stone (Si FF), RM Visage (Si, FF), Dunlop Bog (big box), Deep Trip BoG, Chicago Ironworks Octavia Plus, KR The Fuzz (Si FF), Bonamassa copper fuzz (Ge FF), Lovepedal Tonebender Mkiii (actually its a MKi copy), Roaland AD-50 Beat Box, Paisley Effects Vibra Fuzz (copy of the Psychedelic Machine, which is a Univibe and Super Fuzz in one), Royal Beaver (Ultimate tweakable BMP), Anachy Audio Vagiant (BMF similar to violet rams head but with more mids, bigger bottom), Jam Red Muck (a more mild russian muff), EHX OpAmp fuzz, a few D*A*M Meathead clones
Distortion - Robot Graves Universe 50 deluxe (basically a Rat with ALL the mods, switchable), Metal Zone, Game Changer Plasma Pedal, SA MultiwaveDistortion
Overdrive - Analog Man modded TS-9 (to TS-808 specs, back before he was even making pedals), Way Huge Geisha Drive (SD-9 clone), OCD Ge, Mojo Hand Sacred Cow (Klon), Toneworks FX Oscar Delta (Trainwreck-like overdrive-distortion), and a few more.
Phaser - vintage EHX Bad Stone, Subdecay Pulsar Deluxe (the old purple one). Still want an Infanem Faye Sing, but other than that all my mod needs are met
Flanger - None - looking for a Subdecay Starlight Dlx
Chorus - Source Audio Gemini, Does my JC-120 count? The only one I really want is the Waza Dimension-C. I have the Behringer clone
Vibrato - Only on my UniVibes
Univibe - Dunlop UV-1 w/ expression pedal - the original big silver box reissue, Classic Amplification Vibe Baby, DLS Versa-Vibe, Paisley Effects Vibra-Fuzz, Source Audio phaser
Ring Modulation - None
Tremolo - Source Audio Vertigo, Quaverato Harmonic/Bias trem
Octave - Chicago Ironworks Octavian Plus, Boss OC-3
Pitch shift - Whammy V, Ricochet, Digitech IPS-33B (rackmount), Digitech HarmonyMan
Analog Delay - An old cheap Arion stereo delay
Tape Echo - None
Digital Delay - Boss DD-5 Analog Man modded w/ a killswitch toggle so it does reverse w/o the original signal. An unnecessary mod with later Boss DD pedals
Spring Reveb - None
Digital Reverb - None. Want a Shift Line Astronaut 3 though
Synths - pdshc thing that turns the guitar into a theremin, pdshc Joystick bit crusher, Into the Unknown, Boss GP-10s, EHX C9, Mel9, Bass9, Super Ego, Boss Wave Generator, and a few more that I can't remember
Filters - Cry Baby 95q, Sonuus Wahoo, Boss Dynamic Filter, Ibanez AF-9 (original), EHX Tube Zipper, Line6 Filter Pro (rack), SA PolyMod pro
Compressor- Mooer Diamond Yellow comp copy

Fuzz - V3 Big Muff, Tall Font Sovtek Muff and, more recently, a black/grey SuperFuzz all find time on my board. I've had the V3 since the mid-90s (best $25 I ever spent).

Distortion - I've bought and sold BF/WF Rats so many times since the early 90s I've lost count. I keep trying, but it never sticks. The OG Distortion+ isn't going anywhere though.

Boost - MXR Micro Amp, forever and always.

Phaser - I have an EHX PolyPhase. I feel like the Blackout Effectors Whetstone could also stake a place for "quintessential" status...

Flanger - BF-2 FTW

Chorus - I used a CE-2 for the longest time, until I got an original EHX Clone Theory.

Vibrato - I have a VB-2 back in the day. Never got the hype.

Tremolo - PN-2 for life!

Octave - Wish I still had an OC-2.

Pitch shift - I've owned a couple PS-3s but I never manage to hold onto them for very long.

Tape Echo - RE-150 Space Echo. No going back.

Digital Delay - DD-3 is a classic, I used one for years until I finally got a Space Echo.

Digital Reverb - I keep buying and selling RV-3s. I don't know why.

Fuzz: Fuzz Face, Big Muff (though I see it as more of a distortion)
Overdrive: Maxon OD9
Reverb: Boss FRV-1 (maybe a modern classic)
