I had not seen this yet, but apparently thomann has built an installation where you can test pedals live.

If I understand correctly it doesn’t seem all that complicated technologically. I think getting return on investment is the tricky part.

Guitar players (myself included) are tire kickers and cheapskates.

Maybe the actual money is in licensing the technology.
