Gamechanger Audio did a Bigsby pedal and...

Post by Zork » Mon Jul 05, 2021 1:34 pm

...it even looks exactly like that: https://youtu.be/LDJpjD5XQjA

I think it's equally nuts, fascinating and genius and sounds incredibly realistic. What do you think?

I loved the hocus pocus riff at the end ;D
It sounds quite good, did any of the existing pitch shifting pedals sound like that without the funky enclosure?

I used to work with Gamechanger in my PR job and they were showing off this pedal a few NAMMs ago. I got to fuss with it a little and it was pretty fun. Super cool to see them get to production with it.

i dig it. i've also got the plasma pedal too. i like that they're approaching guitar from a different angle and their stuff is defo worth the money.

i love the concepts behind all of their stuff– the plasma pedal is very interesting to me.

I’ll wait until the Floyd Rose pedal comes out.

I thought the plasma pedal was cool, as was the spring reverb thing (although I'm not convinced similar effects couldn't be magicked up with less weird technology), but what's the different angle on this Bigsby pedal?

Is it not just a really limited whammy pedal in an enclosure that will definitely break down the line?
a total idiot jackass

I have no opinion of the pedal really, but that video was adorable.

I’m just thinking of the sonic possibilities with using an actual JM vibrato and this simultaneously. Talk about a bendy time

The little arm-shaped spring-loaded pedal mechanism is a really nice design element. I don't need or particularly want the pedal, but it would be fun to look at and use for sure.

I agree. Design-wise all of their stuff is pretty cool.

Oh dude I love this idea! Compared to a strat the JM trem never gets anywhere close to the divebomby-ness. I’d love to have the strat trem range in a JM!

Yes, added depth is one thing. I was thinking more along the lines of the rapid rate you could have the wobbles interacting and crossing over each other. Kinda like more rapid Nels Cline-ish trem action

How do you like the plasma? I've got a plasma coil in the mail -- I'm a little nervous it won't be that usable with the gating, especially for the price, but I had to give it a shot!
