I've also still got my old TU-2. It's beat to hell but still works perfectly...it's my bench tuner these days.

The FZ-1w actually mostly replaced my BD-2. It does everything I wanted out of the BD-2 but better.

I rocked a TU-2 for a long time, even after the pass-thru output failed and it finally gave up entirely after a few years of abuse. I've never had a Boss die on me other than that.

This is good to know! I’ve been holding off on the BD-2 because from what I’ve been able to tell from the demos I’ve watched, the FZ-1w kinda covers it all. I’m not a huge dirt player, but I could see the logic in stacking the BD-2 and FZ-1w for more tonal options.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Excellent decision - i doubt you will regret it.

It’s such an easy pedal to get great sounds from, not fickle like many fuzz pedals.

I am loving it more and more each day.

'Modern' setting with fuzz set to 3 o' clock is my new go-to lead tone :?

I got one. Love it! It's not on my main board, but sit nice on my second only-boss small board. I have recorded a song entirely with it with great result.

Mine arrived today. Man it’s good. The modern setting is tame but heavy, smooth but still fuzzy. It just works.

I’ve not been happy with the drive channel on my DSL5 as it is. But playing the fuzz & then switching, the Marshall is so compressed & there’s life to signal in comparison.

This might be my go-to tone. It dials up & down, and sounds great at all gain levels.

I’ve not had a chance to see what volume does, although I’d need to set it same as clean channel for day to day use.

Only problem I’ve found is with my LP & Mustang with a PAF in the bridge, it’s super bright. I’ve whacked treble & mid right down on the amp & still got tone at 9 o’clock on the pedal for a really nice sound. Anyone else found similar?

I dont really use fuzz with HB. I prefer Single (or Filtertron) with fuzz. So no, I dont find the FZ-1w bright at all.

But it’s super weird that it’d be bright with a low output humbucker though? Must be the silly amp.

Got one today, woohoo!

What a fucking great little pedal. Instantly usable fuzz. Kinda halfway between Triangle Muff and Tonebender but without the Muff scoop and smoother than a Bender.

Not wholly dissimilar to the 'vibe' (look at me, down with the youth) I got from my Sunface BART. Big, fat and fuzzy, but retaining some clarity.

10/10, especially for the price compared to more boutique options.

As well as doing fuzz (obviously) I find the waza is also great for distortion. Quite a lot of modern fuzz pedals claim to do this at lower volume/drive settings, but most don’t really deliver.

I never had a fuzz pedal before (just sounded like noise to me - probably just how everyone around me used them), but so many times in the last 2-3 years I'd hear an old song I knew well, and realise "hey, that's a fuzz effect, and it sounds good". I liked the demos of this and bought one last year. I had to wrestle with it for a bit to make it 'fuzz' instead of just being another mild distortion.

Shouldn't have to wrestle all that much, just crank the fuzz level to maximum and let rip

That was the first thing I tried! No bees ensued, just heavier rocks. I think I got it buzzing by trial-&-error of switching the mode, moving it around the pedal board & fiddling with its and the BD-2's levels. Didn't take long, really.

Not that I didn't like those rocks, just that I already get good rocks from overdrive & distortion pedals, and I got this pedal for bees, which I now have.
