Line 6 DL4 MkII

Not to to a necro post, but I'm thinking about picking up a Mk II. I have always wanted a DL4, but I refrained from buying the original one because the footswitches were notorious for going bad within a year or two; I just couldn't bring myself to buy a pedal that's essentially designed to fail after a couple of years.

Does anybody know if the switches on the Mk II have been improved so that they will last longer?

They have, but until L6 updates the firmware I’d say this thing is to be avoided. Pretty comprehensive thread on TGP.

Thanks. I actually picked one up yesterday before I saw your post - I had a guitar center gift card that was burning a hole in my pocket. I’ll have to investigate this firmware issue. But the unit seems physically solid.

Despite all the bad press I really like the DL4 MkII. Never had the first one to compare it to, so no preconceptions on how it should sound. I dig it.
