I know this is all silly, and I guess I could get a waza VB-2.

However, I already own a Boss CE-3. I have been trying to use it as a poor mans VB-2 for a while now, and while its close, it is still a bit off. Generally I just find the wave of the pitch modulation to not be as "smooth" as the VB-2. I'm wondering if it's possible for someone like me with soldering experience but no design experience to mod it to be a smoother, more vibrato-y sound that's just closer to the VB-2. Has anyone done this before? Would love to hear some thoughts! Thanks!

I’m going to assume the CE-3 puts out a triangle wave and the VB-2 puts out a sine wave.

You’ll have to determine if the CE-3’s waveform generator has a sine wave on tap.

They built a little wave shaper ckt using a resistor and a pair of diodes. That’s an old post, too bad the link to the schematic is dead. Is it easy to find old Boss schematics online?
