NPD - Lucky Cat delay
I’m not sure what the stance is on JHS these days. They didn’t make any money from me, either way.
I wanted a digital delay with a straightforward tap. Nothing complex on the pedal. It really did limit things, because having 7 delays on one pedal I’m not using just bugs me. I almost went with a Strymon Dig until I chanced on the lucky cat. Does what I need, and exactly what I want.
The fact that it’s modelled on the DD3 works perfectly for me sound-wise. And I find it easier to use, for some reason the boss subdivisions freak me out. Plus it’s black.
Super clean, crystal clear repeats that can be made to go on almost forever with the knob on full. That was interesting. There’s also a tape delay switch on the side, which when paired with the modulation toggles is quite nice. But it’s no DMM. It’s also got a ‘dark’ control, so basically eq. Nice touch.
I think my board is done now. So much for making a budget board
I’m itching to maybe get a Supermoon for fun, as well. Oh, and all the rat business. Cos everyone needs a rat or two, just in case.

I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

You’ve got a very nice selection of pedals.
I also don’t know what the internet thinks of Josh Scott these days, nor do i care - JHS have made some pretty decent pedals along the way.
I love the all black look. Have you memorised which knob is which, or is it a lucky-dip each time you go to change the setting?
Btw, are you still enjoying the Waza fuzz? That thing continues to blow me away.

I always see people say that other people don’t like JHS but I’ve never actually seen someone say that they themselves don’t like JHS so go figure I guess.
Anyway congrats on the NPD! I like JHS a lot and have been eyeing one of these, just wish they were still actually in production!

I picked up one of these in pink last year. Didn't gel with it right away but now something has clicked and I'm loving it. Fantastic sounding and super usable, what more do you want. I like the tape mode with mod 1 and darken at about noon - it's far from dirty or vibey but just makes it different and alive enough to really work for me.

I’m only likely to change the repeats when playing live, so that’s just ons control to rememberJVG wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 2:08 pmYou’ve got a very nice selection of pedals.

The Fuzz is lovely. I must admit to mostly using it on modern with gain at 2 o’clock. Does a close rat into big muff sound with a single pedal.
How do you use yours?

Apart from the owner’s religious views, the biggest complaint seems to be that they’re expensive clones. And sound-wise this is that. It’s got enough unique features that I was happy enough with the 2nd hand price.ryanthellama wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 4:18 pmI always see people say that other people don’t like JHS but I’ve never actually seen someone say that they themselves don’t like JHS so go figure I guess.

I know what you mean about the modded tape delay. It’s subtle yet unique from any other analogue delay I’ve used.F15hface wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 4:27 pmI picked up one of these in pink last year. Very similar actually. Mostly on ‘modern’ with gain generally around the middle of the dial.sal paradise wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 9:44 pmThe Fuzz is lovely. I must admit to mostly using it on modern with gain at 2 o’clock. Does a close rat into big muff sound with a single pedal.

I got the pink one a couple of years ago for Christmas. It's been on my board ever since. Just a nice sounding delay to my ears.

I know you've been hunting for a straightforward digital delay with easy-to-use tap for ages now -- nice score!

All it took was a Christian fundamentalist
I think the Strymon Dig would have worked, too. Both of these pedals are top $ considering they only do one thing though.
The Joyo D-Seed got lost in the post so I never got to test that
Still loving the Mooer Reecho. Except the DMM has kinda stolen that place on my board

You cant un-twat a twat.
That said, the pedals are perfectly serviceable.
