Beautiful.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Re: Boss DM-101 Delay Machine analog delay
All new pedals evidently cost $499 these days…
This one is really interesting though and much more appealing. Info
Small disappointment: mono in, stereo out.

I also expected a looper with this form factor, but I think this is pretty much a slam dunk.

Yeah. Just listened to the demo and it sounds lovely.
I’d thought we were in the golden age of delay a few years back and this is one is amazing. (I always leaned more to the Ibanez flavor personally but this is great)
Worst case: effect pedal Reaganomics/trickle down as people sell off their DD500 and Re101 pedals etc.

I used to be cool, now I just complain about prices.

Re: Boss DM-101 Delay Machine analog delay
Same. I know I'm getting old and there's inflation, but I've historically had a line where below $50 is okay within budgetary reason, $50-$100 is "well, how have I been spending this month?", above $100 was "okay, I'm going to be buying a pedal, consider it a real purchase and not an impulse buy", and above $150 was... well, was pretty much never, but maybe if the right thing came along.
I'm not the market for this, I'm confident it will make many people very happy and will be their "right thing", but the pedal market seems out of control at the hands of obsessive collectors, rather than musicians, but since they'll buy, it would be foolish for companies not to try and make some of that money.
But I'm sorry, I don't wanna rain on anybody's parade. This thing's gonna be, well... boss.

Well, I believe the Shields Blender is mono-out, so what more do you need? /jkcestlamort wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2023 7:57 amAll new pedals evidently cost $499 these days…

But can you imagine how heavy your pedal board would be with just those 2 pedals on it? I think I would just link them on the floor and skip the board.

Fucking hell. I will have to buy this despite the outrageous price, which ironically justifies the outrageous price.
This will replace my space echo.

I'm a Boss fanboy and I'll admit that I just watched the video and am a little disappointed in it other than the enclosure. The DD-500 can be had for a lot less (currently starting around $200 on Reverb) and can do most of what the DM-101 looks capable of (and much more).

Well it’s possible i’m getting a little over-excited (it’s happened before), but i really do like it.
I think the clincher for me is the layout - it looks so easy to use. The aesthetic is great, too.

Re: Boss DM-101 Delay Machine analog delay
I completely agree on the layout, it's much more intuitive and looks killer. That's the only real downside to the DD-500...it really can do almost everything you'd want a delay to do, but you have to figure out which menu has the parameter you want to tweak.

The demos sound too good for me not to bite. This seems to have that smeary Memory Man quality I've been pining for all these years.
