Does this type of Loop pedal exist?
Been trying to figure out if this even exists or if the technology isn't there yet without going into MIDI interface shenanigans.
- You record a piece of music.
- You can then manually adjust the speed of the playback sample after the fact WITHOUT the sample becoming pitched up or down.
Is this a thing or am I dreaming? I know you can adjust it on other loop pedals but it always creates sample pitching.

I'm 90% sure that the RC-600 does this.

This is called time-stretching on most samplers and, depending on how much long (or shorter) you change it to be you'll start to notice artifacts, although that can be kinda fun.
I can't think of a loop pedal that does this off the top of my head but knowing the terminology may help you find one capable of it. Cheers!

EHX Memory Man with Hazarai does this.
It does loads of other things, too, and it's only a pretty good looper as opposed to a full on, fully featured looper, but if you wanted something that took care of this problem, and also got loads of other delay and spaceship sounds, it could be the one.

Yes. Grab one of these, if you can find one for a decent price. I had one back in the day, and regretfully didn’t keep it.sessylU wrote: ↑Sun Jan 28, 2024 1:25 pmEHX Memory Man with Hazarai does this.

Huh, hadn't realised they'd appreciated a bit in value. Mine has pretty much indispensable for the last decade or so, until recently when I got an M13 for a lot of my reverb and delay sounds. The M13 is a different thing, but it's definitely more flexible and easy to work in a band setting.
I'll definitely have uses again for the Hazarai, I probably just need to spend time experimenting again. I feel like a lot of the time I spend with my pedalboard these days feels more like programming or problem solving, instead of exploring.
Did you do a demo of it aaaaaaages ago, back on Shortscale? I think I have half a memory of something like that... I might be mixing you up with someone else.

I definitely didn’t make a demo of the hazarai, but I did post a few others on ShortScale back in the day. Mostly for MBM stuff.

When you get it, make sure to play with the 1sec+rev. Truly magical! When you hold down the tap button, it repeats the last few seconds of playing in reverse.
Also, while the looper isn’t crazy sophisticated, it has everything you could want in a basic looper. It also does a great morphing loop as you add layers.
I’ve been trying to get rid of this pedal off my board for years, but I’ve made to many of its niche sounds part of my repertoire, so I guess I’m stuck with it……

I realize this might be late to the party, but the Red Panda Tensor can adjust time and pitch independently…

Re: Does this type of Loop pedal exist?
Yes but only by tap tempo on the footswitch. The knob causes sample shifting. I mainly use it as a weird effect because it can be quite a lo fi time-stretch (or maybe my time stretches are just purposefully extreme!). And i'd probably want other pedals but no one has the looper functions (1440 close, just missed time-stretch and a filter.) and reverse delay (canyon close for standard reverse delay, doesn't do the decay knob weirdness which is what i want it for), and i'd say another pedal because of the infamous volume droppage and the 'hold-to-loop' although there are some sound-scape things that has advantages (dropping in short clips) it a pain to be in time compared to 'press-to-loop start and stop' like most pedals are.sessylU wrote: ↑Sun Jan 28, 2024 1:25 pmEHX Memory Man with Hazarai does this.
