Anyone ever tried this particular RAT clone?

Everyone needs a stompbox.

Anyone ever tried this particular RAT clone?

I snagged this exact one for £17 shipped on Reverb UK at musician hours (2:30am I think). I understand that's not much cheaper than new in other territories however I didn't want to join AliExpress or ship from outside the country just to save a few quid ;D

Wondered if anyone else has tried one, specifically with an offset? I wanted a RAT but didn't want to fork out £70+ for either a used variant or a brand new RAT 2. I like clone pedals that are as good as or cheaper than originals anyway - I have a Danelectro Daddy-O for my B9 rig and that's essentially a Marshall Guv'nor, sounds great for mild to moderate dirt.

I have one, it's great, sounds good! My only issue was that the switch on mine was cheap and felt bad, but I replaced it with a better one, and I use it all the time.

Enjoy!

Nice! Something to look forward to on Monday then, when I go collect it from the seller (and get £5 for postage back yay). Good pointer on the switch - friend of mine is a tech so replacing a footswitch would be cheap and easy for him to do.

Actually, I was unclear - it's the TOGGLE switch that felt crappy on mine, no problems at all with the footswitch.

Oh that's good! No part changes required then.

I might make some sound sample demos when I get it, not sure. There's a few okay demos of it on YouTube but a lot of people don't show their clean tone first so you can judge how it colours that (does the bass go missing etc).

I didn't A/B it with any of my "real" Rats, but I've got a few different types, and the Dolamo did "that" sound well, had a lot more volume available than a ProCo, and I like clean, high-headroom amps.

If you get into these Swiss Army knife type RAT clones check out the Wampler Ratsbane. I found one stateside at a pretty reasonable price used. It's built like a tank so you don't really need to worry about picking one up used.
I had a NOS LM308 laying around and popped it in. Pure bliss. Those are getting hard to source and Wampler uses something different that's a little more clinical/clean but he really hints to people to get out there and find a 308 or other chips to experiment.
