I tuned the TB1000S back up to standard (it’s been in C# forever) and gave it a go through the 5F2. Results were great. I haven’t used the Travis Bean much for a while but it’s going to go into the standard rotation more now. The flat radius on the fretboard is kind of nice with bigger chords like 7ths and 9ths. I’m liking it. I was also using my old tube Reverb Unit but it’s not in the photos (on top of a different amp).

No clang here. All dirt 8) . Until the guitar’s volume is rolled back a bit. Then clean-ish-er.

A Travis Bean is my only shot at a decent "birth year guitar". :-*

One day...one day....

Thanks everybody! I love the guitar. I think I bought it in ‘05 or ‘06, so it’s been with me quite a while now. I just finally replaced the input jack recently as it’s been intermittent for at least a decade :D Also cleaned up some fret ends so it’s playing great now. I always meant to also acquire an earlier Artist in Koa with a polished neck but never have. The fuckers are really expensive now but it’s one of the final things I really want. In due time I want to get one.

Just being silly really, not even sure of the best way to connect both cabs to the head :D

It does look really good though.

I love a blackface Bassman! I have one of those 2x15 cabs too. I used to use it with my old Orange Overdrive 120 a lot. I have no idea what speakers it has in it because I could never get a few the screws out of the back panel for fear of them breaking :D I bought it from Guitar Center for like $120 about 16 years ago. Those assholes wouldn’t even help me get it to or in my car!

Yeah I've had this cab for probably 15 years now, bought it to give me some extra push from a DeVille 2x12. Cost me not very much at all if I seem to remember.
Just rescued it from the basement of our studio where it's lived for the last decade. Now I've managed to getmit up to my attic I don't think I'll be bringing it back down in a hurry. That thing is HEAVY

Robinson or Monroeville? I never had great experiences at either.

Robinson! My wife works at IKEA, so I used to stop by GC every now and then. It’s probably been at least 12 years since I stepped foot in there last. At this point, I feel a lot better rolling the dice on Reverb for used gear or Sweetwater if I’m buying new. I’ve never had a bad experience with Sweetwater.

Ha! The same. Except for the wife. There’s a GC on the way to IKEA and I haven’t been in either for over 10 years. Reverb and Sweetwater, with an occasional Vintage King purchase.

I think I've only used GC to pick up an amp or two I've bought from CG's used site. No use buying anything new there and most used stuff is a crapshoot but the amps are usually on the low side of prices and the tend to not know what they have very often so I've scored a few bargains. I got my first '66 Bassman on GC's used site for around $450 within the last 5 years. Worth picking up in the store so you can refuse it if it's busted from shipping or not as advertised instead of trying to return ship it or deal with some manager trying to say you broke it cause buyers remorse or something.
