THIS ^^^ has got my attention. What happens there? How have you got your Freezies(?) set? Trying to imagine what that sounds like...
OH HI. I had the idea before the super ego came out -- that adding an internal feedback loop to a Freeze would let you stack sounds. That may be true but I killed 2 units (both resurrected by EHX for a nominal fee) trying to do the smd soldering required to make it happen. Using a feedback looper was the next best thing. You need to play with the amount of feedback and freeze volume to avoid runaway feedback, but it does work to stack sounds. It also adds some interesting overtones as it's also recapturing the original frozen sound so there is phase and tuning modulation. I think it's awesome! I did end up trying the Super Ego but never really jived with it so stuck with my old faithfuls.

I don't have any clips that you can really tell what's happening, will try to see if I can whip something up. :D
Thanks! That would be much appreciated. As a long-time freeze devotee, I'd be very interested to see your hack 8)
So I assume both are in latch mode?

Ok it has been this for long enough to post, will I want to change it now that I've posted it? Or the opposite? I love the DD-20 but it sure takes up a lot of room, just ask my compressor. >_>

Signal chain is:

Zvex Vexter Fuzz Factory > Sonuus Wahoo > Fredrick Effects Green Big Muff > Cheap Klon Clone
In the loop: TC Plethora > Diamond Quantum Leap > Caroline Meteore

This is a work in progress. I may take the Plethora out of the effects loop, possibly put the Quantum Leap and Meteore into the Plethora's internal loop. I find that the Meteore works best in an amp's effects loop, but I am not too fussed about other delays and reverbs.

The Plethora is pretty intuitive, but I'm going to have to do loads of tweaks to get it to do what I want. I spent about an hour last night trying to get the pitch shifter to whammy properly with no success. I downloaded the editor software, so I'm going to have to sit with that.

It works in any mode, but yeah I usually run in latch.

Here's a vid: https://vimeo.com/484109124

Tried to shoot it a few times to get a good range of sounds, but feedback loopers are so fickle that I just decided to have a jam and call it good. Signal is JMJM > pedalboard (only using freezes) > THR10 > Mixer > iPhone. No added reverb or anything -- all sounds just guitar and Freezles. It's touchy -- you can hear the oscillation building every time I stomp after I turn up the feedback knob, but I like drones so it works for me. haha Not sure what's going on with the panning, but that's not an effect of the pedals.

You should try it. :shifty:

Dreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeamy! That's greatness - like an intense, lonely, cold soundtrack shot entirely under power lines 8)
I love the way the tonal pad has that sway and shift. I can see that being really powerful when conjured just so. I get what you're saying about it being a bit tempermental, but that's the beauty of it... the not knowing for certain.

Lovely, lovely.
Thanks for making the time to shoot and share that. This may be the motivation I need, to finally fix that damned broken latching switch on mine

Funny you should say that, and this is a true story...

in the 90s, I bought a first gen Gameboy, and of course, Tetris was the free game that came with it. I played it and played it and played it..clocked hundreds of hours...got fairly good at it...a year or two later, I bought a Nintendo magazine...and it had a high score section.

It was for Tetris. The people listed were around the 180,000 points mark...I hit 280k playing at home on my GB a couple of times way before reading the mag. It was crazy...then I broke the 300k barrier once...if I remember correctly I did 320k or so...I am sure there are guys that even hit more...but it really is the only computer game I was truly great at, and had no idea whatsoever that I was great at at the time! :)
