as i usually play bass i'm wondering if anyone has ever tried to mod a proco rat to get more bass response...along the lines of a keeley mod.
if i understand it right altering the values of the input and output capacitors should improve the bass response.
anyone tried, or got any thought ?
ta

There's a few Rat mods on the Beavis Audio site .. he's summed them together into the FKR as well (Four Knob Rat).
Distance-crunching honcho with echo unit.

that fkr looks really interesting - thanks
i tried the mod i posted above yesterday and i'm VERY impressed...much better bass response and the overdirve is a lot more controllable. it may not to be everyone's taste, especially if you're after the very high levels of distortion that the un-modded rat can give, but for bass i think it's much better.
i usually use a dean markley overlord valve pedal for some grind on my bass, which is hard to beat, but this mod on the rat is very good to my ears.
nice thing is that it's very easy to undo - i may even fit a switch to go between the stock and modded versions.
