how so?Offshat wrote: no,that place is a shame!
we only expose the lies boo-tweakers tell, theres hardly an original circuit on the market and the only ones i can think of is a couple of brian marshalls (subdecay) and bill finnegans klon.
landgraff, skreddy, zvex, fulltone etc are clones, or tweaked clones sold as original circuits with the exception of marc as he tells ya his are BMP's.

Re: for those that arent fortunate enough to know........
good site! i read about it recently on HCFX, that analogman / terrorist thing... he sounded like a right twat this boutique vs. diy-ers thing is ridiculous, we should all just go out and boss pedals...
ehhh, i guess if other people want to pay more for pedals though... let 'em... i mean, i'd rather have a sephamore trem than a stereo pulsar, but i'd go for the pulsar because i can buy two for the same amount of $$$.i have built simple stuff before, but the main problem here in the UK is sourcing parts - i'd rather not spend alot of money on components when there's no guarantee i'll get them to work - as unless you buy bulk it can be quite extortionate.
btw, are you pumpkin? i wondered what happened to him...

Re: for those that arent fortunate enough to know........
yes, i am.
buy components from smallbear and pedal parts plus has 4dollar 3PDT's and 5 dollar powder coated enclosures.
mouser is cool, download the catalog and print out the pages you need.
allied electronics is cool for certain things as well.
all these stores are cheap, shipping is reasonable to good.
ebays the place to get germanium trannies if ya into them, im not much into germanium personally so i buy silicon ones from SB.
i'm in oz and the best valuie for money for me is to buy all my stuff in the US, i assume in the UK its the same deal.

Re: for those that arent fortunate enough to know........
oh hi - what happened to you? you always had good info on this kind of thing...
thanks man, i'll go blow a load of money later! i always assumed shipping would be stupid but i've just checked it out myself and it's not too bad... better than banzai anyway and they're in europe FFS...Plus when it comes to transistors i just use those which are the easiest to get, because i know a limited amount about them. i mean, i started building things using the components from my old crap gear.
Hang on - HLY SHT $4?? thats like £2.00 - they're normally more like £5 over here WTF? thats bloody amazing!! Shame - I can't seem to get their site up atm...but thanks again though man.

we will and thanks for the layouts.. I'm having trouble finding one for perf. There's a ton of circuit board layouts out there, not just for Muff's but also for so many cool effects I'm starting to think I should just learn to etch my own

Re: for those that arent fortunate enough to know........
just use the PCB one for perf, thats all it is anyways.
cut a bit of perf 21x21 holes and youl have enough room to do it using that layout.
etching in simple man, just print out the pcb design on photo paper with a laser printer, iron on the piece of copper clad, remove the transfer and etch.
then wash it, drill it, make it.
when ya buy drill bits be sure to buy about ten because you will break them in the beginning and you'l want a backup so ya can make ya effect.
google "PCB etching 101" and you get heaps of results of various ways to etch.
