It's not got a DL with it but it does have a couple of extra tracks. I think Dark Entries plan is to price things low/fair and offer no digital to drive sales and cut down piracy. I'm sure the someone has ripped it somewhere and If you buy the record I'd not feel bad about finding a rip for your device.

Cool, it's just my incar turntable is playing up and is really only good for 7" releases.

I'm all good with ripping it, probably better than most with the equipment I have at home - I just generally try not to.

I think it's appropriate to post it here:

Optimo's compilation of 'cherry-picked post-punk obscurities' is finally available:
Ceast & Desist: DIY! Cult Classics From The Post Punk Era 1978-1982

2LP edition, compiled by JD Twitch, looks like a great compilation for those who don't happen to own the original 7″ singles ;)
Digital is also available, of course.

This is a good comp, people should buy it the minute it becomes available, IMO Private Plane sits at the very top table of Post Punk sevens and the rest of it isn't too shabby either. Was this not supposed to have The Scars on it? Maybe I'm, imagining reading that.

Yeah, I saw the Boomkat email about that and my ears pricked up immediately.

Also, they announced the reissue of Shinichi Atobe's 'Ship Scope' at the same time which has got me interested as well.

That's a great record, Chain Reaction was such a brilliant label. I bought the reissue, even though I already had it and was about worried about the mastered from vinyl bit but it actually sounds very good and the filez sound good too.

I've revisited this thread many times over the past year, and while I've not made it through the whole list yet (I tend to absorb music very slowly) I just want to thank you for this incredible resource. As someone who grew up without awareness of these acts, and who later developed an adoration for this style of music, I'm delighted to have something so comprehensive and lovingly curated. Most importantly, it was through this guide that I discovered Young Marble Giants, whose sole release has become one of my favorite records of the past year (and in general).

Have a look at the demos for Weekend Alison Statton's band after YMG.

Blackest Ever Black put them out on vinyl last year. Red Planes in particular is a beautiful, elegant and delicately gloomy track,.
