Bargeld seems to have a reputation for being hard to work with...Hacke managed to do fourty-four years, which is quite impressive in any band context!
My band got to open for Hackedepicciotto sometime last November, to say that I was star-struck would be an understatement. He and Alice were lovely despite an argument with the sound engineer and some technical problems on stage. Before the show, Hacke was telling me stories about his life and music : "And Blixa was like, uh, you know, Blixa Bargeld, the lead singer in Einstürzende Neubauten ?" "...yes!"

After the show he told me my singing reminded him of Bryan Ferry and how he was terrified by him as a child ("All the feathers and the falsetto, I really didn't get it".)
So, yeah, the upside of all this is that they seem to be touring a lot with Alice, and I guess being able to tour as a duo with all of your gear in ONE little white van must be a relief after years of lugging tons of rusty steel around.
