OK, sorry to post a clip 2 days in a row but this is something I've always wanted to see...

2007 Rickenbacker 330 Converted Light Show

Not only is it an incredibly unique (and strangely cool looking) guitar but that first song he plays, one of his own, was fantastic! Intelligently arranged, all over the place & ending in a kind of Sonic Youth meltdown.

He's an amazing player, and I like that he's kind of dorky, not trying to be the cool rocker guy you know?

But there's something off with the last Jazzmaster... Rhythm circuit sounded fine but the lead circuit sounded off to my ears

Everytime I hear him it makes me wonder what I have been playing all this time, because it doesnt sound anywhere near as good as what he plays.

So he demoed a gorgeous '58 Gretsch Single Anniversary (two tone green....shwiiinnngg!!!) and clearly loved the thing to bits.

I just saw that he sold it over the phone shortly after that & when he asked for the mailing address the person said "Yours. I want you to have it!!" Amazing!!

Perks of the job, eh?

I've not been paying attention to this topic for the longest time, but now that it popped up again I have to just say thanks. He is a very gifted player and his humility and gratitude is a testament to the good that is still in this world.

He makes Jags and JMs sound the way I hear them in my head. Nothing flashy, just good tone and straightforward playing.
"I'm nostalgic for conversations I had yesterday. I've begun reminiscing events before they even occur. I'm reminiscing this right now. I can't go to the bar because I've already looked back on it in my memory, and I didn't have a good time."

Another of Norm''s Rare Guitar videos. While the first bit is just spruiking the guitar, when Lemmo starts playing I wonder if any one else had played that type of music on that guitar.

He then does the ZZ Top stuff but he does it well.

He's at it again!

Just a great demonstration of how versatile the Jazzmaster is, this time a '63 in Candy Apple Red that's yellowed perfectly.

The first couple of jams were examples of restraint & warm, loungey vibes but that last one...oh man!! Such a great groove!!
