I figured J.P. definitely deserves his own thread.

He released a new album called Invisible You late last year which I just picked up, and I'm really enjoying it so far. Probably some of the nicest recorded guitar tones I've heard recently; plenty of offset action for those that care about such things.

A lot more straight 'song-based' compared to much of his other work. With Mick Harvey, Kim Salmon and Steve Shelley involved it sounds...like you'd expect. And I mean that in a good way. Dirty, brooding and ragged.

Hungry Ghosts are great and also have some amazing guitar tones.
J.P also does some great work on the new lost songs of David McComb album, Truckload of Sky.
Seems a nice guy as well, which is always a bonus.

He really is an integral part of an incredible family tree of variously linked musicians, McComb/Harvey/Howard/Salmon/Hooper/Perkins/Jones/Macdonald/Kakulas/Snarsky/Casey/Ellis/White/Luscombe/Liddiard/<I'm sure the list goes on>...

I love Hungry Ghosts, and enjoyed his first solo album. For some reason, the song that was up for preview when this record was first announced didn’t really click with me, but I’m glad I went back and listened to the whole thing, because I’m really liking it now. The obvious influences are there (RSH and Crime and the City Solution - the vocals remind me a lot of Simon Bonney), but I also hear some JAMC in at least one song. Will definitely buy a hard copy.
