Thirded. Absolutely flawless. One of the best records ever made by anyone. I would put Fake Train and New Plastic Ideas up there along with it - wouldn't want to have to pick between them. Sara Lund is my favorite drummer of all time.

It is Unwound - Leaves Turn Inside You. It's a double album they made in a studio they built right before they broke up. It is fairly post-rock/shoegaze-ish stuff from a band that prior to this was known for being a really unhinged and noisy post-hardcore/noise rock/Sonic Youth type band. Definitely well worth a look if you like either of those things I mentioned Maggie or especially if you like all of those things I mentioned!

same. especially since it looked like a reunion was going to materialize given how big they've became in the last 10 years.

Happy belated to this great record! Just got the email shipping notification for my preorder of the Numero Challenge for a Civilized Society repress today. I'm digging the represses of them they've been doing. I only got into Unwound a few years ago, feel like I just missed out age wise, started getting into this kind of stuff about a year after they broke up, very very quickly became a favorite.

They're one of the reasons I have been using Mellotron quite liberally on a bunch of the things I have been recording of late.

Love to hear a glowing rec like this and throw it on without any other knowledge or context at all. I'll let you know how it goes :D

my first listen...great so far. 15 minutes in.
If I was a byrd, I'd be mighty sore every time they shut the door and I don't think I'd sing...

Just listened start to finish while cutting our lawn.

Epic.

I understand why it's a favorite album ever.
