My buddy has an SG that plays better than anything else I've laid hands on. I'm not much of a humbucker guy but that thing ripped with Phat Cats in it. I'd take an SG over a Les Paul any day, even though I've been told that's not much of a distinction somehow SG's feel more natural to me.s_mcsleazy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 15, 2021 5:07 pmhonestly, greg sage is part of the reason i wish i liked SG's more. when i was 16, i even got a batwing SG and stuck a bigsby on it because of him but i just never liked them

Can’t stand SGs. Ugly, fragile, neck divey. They can sound really great, but not worth it for me.s_mcsleazy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 15, 2021 5:07 pmhonestly, greg sage is part of the reason i wish i liked SG's more. when i was 16, i even got a batwing SG and stuck a bigsby on it because of him but i just never liked them

Do youself a favor and check out Silver Sail from the early 90s. One of my favorite albums ever. Some dark desert surf goodness.

I love Silver Sail. Parts of it reminded me of The Gun Club's later albums.adamrobertt wrote: ↑Sun Sep 19, 2021 3:41 pmDo youself a favor and check out Silver Sail from the early 90s. One of my favorite albums ever. Some dark desert surf goodness.

Let me splain Northwest Rock and Roll to you:
The Sonics -> The Wipers -> Nirvana
The Wipers represent the highest ratio of greatness to famousness ever in rock.
Their keystone record is Over The Edge.
If you don't have it, you need it.
Needless to say a personal favorite. Way favorite.
