Jazzguar Content!

Post by thegreatbigsby » Thu Feb 09, 2023 12:36 pm

I've been a fan of Tobias Hoffman for a while. It was at a concert of his where I thought "wait - a Jaguar can sound like THIS?" and then went ahead and bought one. Just stumbled upon this live recording with his quartet. Jazzy, but not just. Great stuff, tasty, beautiful and whacky.

Enjoy!

I’ll have to look into this guy a bit more. I like his slowed down surf version of Wicked Game. I don’t get how he does the dives and warbles without the trem bar.

Huge fan of his. He's just an incredibly original player on top of being a fantastic one, which is hard to do.

He sounds good on any guitar, but I particularly like what he does with Jaguars. There are some incredible demo videos he's done for a vintage guitar shop, including this one of a 1964 Jaguar, which is just a delightful listen.
The artist formerly known as mbene085.

Every demo I see of his for that shop I'll stop and watch. He has that innate ability to bring something really engaging and mesmerising out of any guitar.

A real joy to watch and hear.
Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

That is nuts. I'd kill to play like that. The Hawaiian lap steel bends he does like halfway through, I was just astounded.
