I like it overall, I wish it had more Rachel but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Feels like some chill-wave tune but I guess they sort of lowkey invented that
I used to be cool, now I just complain about prices.

This makes me very happy. Now if we can just get a new MBV record too...
We are merely moving shadows.

Pretty good. Someone should have tuned that acoustic though.

For people who haven’t checked in a while the demo bonus tracks for Pygmalion are fascinating.

Those demos for Pygmalion should be released as their own LP, they are pretty much my favorites currently. There are some really solid demos for Souvlaki floating around as well.

So I'm not the only one who noticed that, then.
The artist formerly known as mbene085.

The Pygmalion re-release is great. Fun fact: Morr Music (a German label) was founded partially with the idea of re-releasing Pygmalion (which didn't happen), but they rekindled/carried the torch for that sound.
The demos for Souvlaki and other stuff are worth tracking down, although with a certain "cassette left out in the sun" quality (one that people pay $500 for to have in an effect pedal). (We used to cover "Joy" live... Always fun/funny/uncanny because it is immediately clear that it's a Slowdive song but also unfamiliar).

Nice to see so many Pygmalion appreciators here. :-*

It’s definitely an anomaly in their catalog, but it’s a great one.

Never managed to appreciate Pygmalion.

New track is good. Can’t believe it’s been 6 years since their s/t. I rarely listen to that anymore except a few tracks
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

It's a pretty cool song but if i didn't know it was Slowdive, I wouldn't have assumed it was them. It sounds like some modern placement 'dreamy guitar' music that's perhaps more influenced by Fleetwood mac than Slowdive.

Yeah, i felt the same way about it and hope the rest of the album doesn't veer in that direction

I think it was intentional. Gives a very cool vibe to the song IMO. Can’t help but say I love it and can’t wait until their in the states in a few months.

Jeez..the closest venue to me, Cleveland, sold out before I had a chance to grab tickets. Supposedly ticket sales were to start at 10. When I tried to buy at 10:05 they were all gone. Apparently there was a pre-sale I was unaware of.

Now, however, I have bought tickets and will be flying to Boston for the first time. 2 awesome experiences at once.

someone mentioned the harmonic/melodic similarity to Beautiful Day by U2 and now i can't get it out my head, especially as their post-revival stuff goes in the AOR direction
