Yeah, I think he's always been a fan of obscure garage/psych stuff. I remember reading an interview with him years ago where he was waxing lyrical about The Lollipop Shoppe.

The man's made a career out of lifting stuff from other bands & somehow managing to make it his/their own.

I’m a big Noel Gallagher fan. The guy doesn’t have an original bone in his body but that’s perfectly alright with me because the songs are still excellent.

I listened to the new album constantly through the summer. Open the Door is one of my favorite tunes. Another one, “There she Blows” rips off Johnny Hates Jazz’s “Shattered Dreams” in the chorus, but again in a cool way, as he always does.

Haven’t heard the Left Banke song (or any Left Banke!)— will do so now.
