just me going on about my own band... feel free to ignore

i´m sorry for blowing my own horn here, but i just found a review that made me a very happy man. :D :D :D

"Perhaps clocking in as the most fun instrumental album of the year, Ellis the Vacuumchild's Peace by Extermination is an energetic powerhouse the spills contradictions in every direction. This is truly the instrumental album for people who don't like instrumental music. Guitars buzz, hum, and bend, and the drums pound out a jangy beat, almost so swift as to invoke dancing. Songs are concise--generally clocking in around the four minute mark, and not really skimping out on any of the great post-rock details that are seen in larger works. Ellis the Vacuumchild boils down the genre into a prepackaged form unlike anyone else, and Peace by Extermination never allows the listener's attention to wander. Playful sounds are constantly being thrown into the musical space, and it's difficult to escape from the repeated bombardment of the auditory system. With two squeaky clean releases under their belt, Ellis the Vacuumchild are beginning to set its sites outside of its native Sweden and begin dropping its music all over the world by way of peace by extermination.

Key Tracks: Peace By Extermination; Decapitation Spree; Ellis fear Chloe"

and what makes it even more hearwarming to read, it was ranked as #17 here: "The Top 50 Instrumental Releases of 2005" :D :D :D

DISCLAIMER: this post is not to be regarded as promotion for the above mentioned album, since the album is no longer available anywhere

I think this section is partly intended for promoting offsetter's own bands and that's the way we like it.

Are copies of this album available, say, directly through you?

:)

That's great! And no. 17? Wow. You're one behind Explosions in the Sky - that's a good neighborhood to be in!

Jonas - I tried to buy one from your label, and everything went fine until I went to pay and their PayPal account said "no longer accepting incoming payments". Tell them that the masses are trying to buy Ellis albums and they can't!

yeah, the label ( = a guy called magnus, a real donkey-pit) is kinda bankrupt.

we ourselves don´t have any copies (not even for personal use), the label don´t have any copies (or so they tell us), i think the distributor has all the remaining copies, but i dont know if they are selling them. there´s been a big financial dispute between our label and the distributor, and we´re stuck in the middle. :(

i think the best way to get hold of it is to download it from DC++  or something similar.

EDIT: apparently www.cdon.com still has the album. :)

but i still recommend downloading it, if you can find it.

OK - I did what you suggested and I've got it now. Great stuff!

Just one question - who is Chloe? There's a Chloe I fear too - maybe it's the same one.  :P

Hmm, don't suppose you want to pop it on that iPod before it gets sent over?

"chloe" is a great band that was named after chloe sevigny. they seemed to be on their way to become semi-famous for a while, but then two of the members moved away, three of them joined our band (well, one of them was already in our band), two of them formed Suburban Kids With Biblical Names, and so they just sorta faded out. they do occasionally re-unite for random gigs, but they don´t ever rehearse or anything. they have two songs up on myspace: http://www.myspace.com/chloesthlm check them out!
