Occasionally, the algorithm brings me something that is actually enriching.

Knower seem be what happens when the nerdy music school kids have soul too.

Good to see Knower getting a shout. Louis Cole is the man.

Related: for something a little more experimental check out Clowncore. That's Louis on drums (and keyboards, some vocals and bicycle horn) and Sam Gendel on sax/keyboards.

Lol. I think the algo actually brought me knower because an Internet Comment Etiquette video referenced clown core.

Some things remind me what a defeated lump of shit I am. Put another way, this is all very inspirational!
If it wasn't for disappointment, I wouldn't have any appointments.

Once I got past the initial 'oh this is funny' I realised - they're actually geniuses.
"I don't know why we asked him to join the band 'cause the rest of us don't like country music all that much; we just like Graham Lee."

I know only 14 pages of posts in a couple of weeks. Welcome back.
Yes 😂 it turns out I can type even more quickly on a MacBook years later so it's started to demystify why the post count from years ago was so high, seems I can do that from just one visit in a day for sometimes less than an hour

Thanks for the welcome, the other part I've answered in a PM. 🙏🏻

Lucas Brar - Take Five (Arrangement)

This is absolutely stunning, and if you care about guitar even a little you owe it to yourself to watch it - I'm serious, I know we're basically all guitarists here but his arrangement is that good it's actually inspiring. Wonderful player, skilled arranger, great performance with good production values, what more needs to be said? 🥁✅

The Incredible Jazz Guitar of Wes Montgomery

I was like "I'll just put one on" and then listened to the whole album from track 2 onwards, which is my pick for song of the day, D-Natural Blues (that's the key, it's not a 🍈🍈 joke for those of us who have a "teenage boy" setting on their sense of humour which can't be toggled off). Truly sublime and still puts a lot of modern guitarists to shame. Often imitated, never bettered - he's one of those. His band is stellar too. Not every solo is his!

Deaf - Live

I can't listen to the Spotify ones cos I boycott streaming but YouTube is fine (happy to sub to Premium as there's so much good content) and I have to say I fucking :-* this, it's great. It's what MBV of Loveless era might sound like if Belinda sung all the songs and they made an album around that 3-5 years later.... and sometimes Shields screamed over the top :w00t:
Yeah they're insanely talented, really fresh sounding but nods to Shoegaze and Industrial stuff.

Fixed the list if you're only able to use Youtube ;)

Just Mustard

Seven
Curtains
Frank
Tainted

Pixie Cut Rhythm Orchestra

An insanely powerful voice and really well-written melodies, played with them a few times and really nice people to boot too. Big Cranberries / Dolores O Riordan vibes.

I Didn't Love You when I Said I Did and I Don't Now

Sprints

Alt / Trashy Dublin post punk, another band seriously on the rise.

Drones

Mhaol Irish name, pronounced MWhale.

Arty post punk with pretty savage satire and lyrical themes.

Gender Studies

hotgirl

Unbelievably honest songwriting, themes so sharp you'd nearly cut yourself on them. Also played with them before, totally sound.

KARP - See You At Lakefair

First half of the month's listening was solidly Northern Soul, the last few weeks have just been Suplex on repeat. I'm having a great time.
