Brand New (the band)

Post by Amber » Wed Mar 07, 2007 6:00 am

Anyone here like Brand New? Jesse has been using Jazzmasters a lot lately. A black with t/s guard and matching headstock and a sunburst.

There's a clip of them on Conan too with the black JM.

Great, great band! I've loved Deja Entendu ever since it first came out. I was never really into pop punk so I didn't like their first cd but I was blown away by deja. The new cd is alright, but I've been listening to it for months and I still am not totally into it.

Jesse owns about 5 or so jazzmasters now and who knows how many teles. He has good taste in guitars, in my opinion.

Really like this band. I have seen them live 4 times and the whole experience is unbelievable. Expect big things in the future.

Great great band!! I've seen them three times, and they rocked each time. A girl my fiance met at one of their shows got us into hanging out with their manager and drummer over drinks. Good times...it would have been better if the music at the bar we were at wouldn't have been so loud so we could have had a conversation and not just sat there in silence because saying "WHAT????" every time someone says anything grows thin after a while.

Their album that got leaked, "Fight Off Your Demons" was a great album. It had some really good songs like "Brothers" (which is now the b-side on the Jesus Christ single) "Fork And Knife" and "Untitled 1".

I think that even on their first album "Your Favourite Weapon", you could tell they were good musicians and Jesse was a gifted lyricist. The wit he had with the cutting remarks was awesome.

"Is that what you call tact? You're as subtle as a brick in the small of my back, so let's end this call and cut this conversation. Is that what you call a get away? Tell me what you got away with, 'cause I've seen more spine in jellyfish, I've seen more guts in eleven year old kids. So have another drink and drive yourself home, and I hope there's ice on all the roads, and you can think of me when you forget your seatbelt. Then again when your head goes through the windshield."

Good lyrics for a first release, if you ask me.  And they only got better... I'm a HUGE fan of these guys.
