Been enjoying the Dark City Sisters recently. It's not really trippy or anything, just hauntingly beautiful to my ears.
bonus: my daughter, who is 22 months old at the moment, is really into this song as well.

This is incredibly good - a member of the Africa 70 (it's Fela's Range Rover on the front!)

Re: Does Anyone Get Down On Some Afrobeat?
Afrobeat fans, the label that Shadowplay mentioned a few years ago, Analog Africa, has been putting out some really good stuff recently. They've cast their net past the continent land mass and snared Cape Verde and now they've been foraging in South America. Places like Brazil, Peru, and Columbia.
I can't seem to get enough of it. On one hand, I wish some of it was a little more trippy and weird, yet the part of me that likes sugary sweet pop is just gorging on some of these songs. For a fan of catchy tunes with a slightly raw feel this stuff hits the spot, and my two kids are fully on board too, especially my son, age 8, which is fun.
Don't get me wrong, their older catalog has some gems too-- so please explore some more.
