Does Anyone Get Down On Some Afrobeat?

Lately I've been digging on some afrobeat i.e. Fela Kuti, The Daktaris, Ariya Astrobeat Arkestra just to name a few . Does anyone have any other musicians of this nature to share?

Segun Bucknor and William Onyeabor are two of my favorites.

I'm in a bit of a lull and not listening to the style much but I've loved Peter King - Shango for such a long time.

I'm a big fan of William Onyeabor.

Over the years there been a few good nights playing music broadly relevant to this, it was a sad day when Highlife closed at the Sub Club, my mate Aunty Flo or Brian as I call him DJ'd it with aplomb. He records handy future Afro sounds as Aunty Flo.

However the African music I've enjoyed and played the most in the last couple of years is Francis Bebey, I can't recommend Psychedelic Sanzaand African Electronic Music highly enough.

OK this might be slightly off the beaten path but I've mentioned it before and I'll mention it again Zazou / Bikaye / Cy 1‎– Noir Et Blanc, it's a Belgian/Congolese collaboration from -983 and IMO a bit of a seldom heard classic and of you might indulge me driving WAY off topic but anyone liking this might want to check out the classic La Pervesita album Zazou was involved on from1979. Discogs link.Talking Belgian, it's not exactly 'authentic' but it's heavily influenced and fucking superb, so I'll put my towel down again for Allez Allez - African Queenwhich is a sorta slomo post punk take.

Edit; sorry fixed all the links.

Good recommendations above.
Not strictly afro-beat, but strictly awesome nonetheless, try "Afreaka!" by Demon Fuzz:

You know it's going to be great with a cover like that and it doesn't disappoint.

AH Demon Fuzz! I bought that record purely for the name/sleeve.

Do you like Cymande? I sort of keep them filed next to Demon Fuzz mentally.

I don't know if this is Afro-beat, but if you can't find at least five amazing and catchy songs from the Golden Afrique collection you are dead in your heart and brain. My 3.5 year old likes a lot of the songs as well. :D

I listen to Fela a fair bit, although I know there's a whole lot more to dip into. Something that's not really Afrobeat, but a lovely album well worth a listen IMO is Extra Golden's first album Ok-Oyot System. 2 Americans + 2 Kenyan Benga musos. Some background here:

There's a really cool Afrobeat band in Kansas City called Hearts of Darkness.

https://heartsofdarkness.bandcamp.com/album/shelf-life

They really nail the vibe of that good old-timey Afrobeat.

That is indeed a great compilation and Analog Africa is a good label.

I've been shaking my tail feathers to; WITCH - No Time (Pilooski Edit)

The comp it's on was put together by someone I know professionally and it's a decent effort.

Yep, Cymande and Demon Fuzz go together very nicely!
As far as comps go, this new set from Now again is excellent:

But maybe my favourite collection is this one:

Every track on "The World Ends" is KILLER.
