Re: Hello again?
Nope. Strats and Teles, mostly. Old white guys with 50 year hard-ons for Eric Clapton.

Re: Hello again?
Funny, I never cared much for Clapton's output once he put down his early Gibson's, Marshall's and fuzzes.

Eh, Chapel show reference. It's just a very small community of mostly friendly, goofy, harmless older dudes who love their guilds.hulakatt wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 5:39 amDidn't know that forum existed and don't know who Brian Gumble is either but at least I know who Malcom X is!seenoevil II wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 8:34 pmLet's Talk Guild make Brian Gumble look like Malcom X.
If it wasn't for disappointment, I wouldn't have any appointments.

You were banned? Well that completely sucks. Sorry to hear that. What is going on in that place these days?

Nothing noteworthy. Still a sea of in-jokes, blooze lawyers and pedal junkies that thinks it's the center of the universe. I stuck mostly to the Effects, Amps and Guitars subs. I got in trouble usually in the Pub.
Oh, the finally added a Drums sub, that was nice.

Re: Hello again?
I mean, does it suck? I was happy to get admonished and it made me realize what a waste of time that was.
I went back to Gearslutz, got into an argument, and wrapped that up, also. My social media is very, very little now. The divorce should kill most of my Facebook use, so it's looking like it's mainly just here.
I guess I kind of like the TDPRI.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

I meant more in the sense that a lot of long time members are getting banned for flimsy and incomprehensible reasons. I would not be surprised at all if you were targeted by one of the Maga-mods. I'm sad to see it, because I do like TGP.hulakatt wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 4:00 pmNothing noteworthy. All my 'vacations' came from the Pub too! My favorite was when I got suspended for insulting guns.

Re: Hello again?
I was totally targeted and I know which mod too. Awhile ago I started a AMA thread in the Pub about my being trans and my transition and it was largely a very well received and positive thread, being quite active for over a year before one mod got a hard on about it and deleted it. When I complained, I was told it hadn't been deleted, only locked and later that day, it showed back up again but was now locked. That mod also threw some nasty responses at me in the thread where I asked what happened which he then promptly deleted. Ever since then, I would get warnings or bans for all kinds of minor, petty BS.Nevets wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 11:08 amI meant more in the sense that a lot of long time members are getting banned for flimsy and incomprehensible reasons. In one thread, people were ranting/asking questons about the post office. Well, I work for USPS and answered a bunch of the questions. In answering one question, I said that new directives were coming from the top down to slow things down and I got a ban for that too.

Welcome onto here! Considering what's out there, this is one seriously friendly and constructive place with exceptions being few and far between.

Well it's nice to have you here, Hulakatt. Seems like you've found your corner of the internet.

Re: Hello again?
I gotta have some outlet to talk about this kinda stuff! This place does seem to be just the right kind of chill so far. The only thing I did really like about TGP was, due to the sheer mass of people, lots of threads bumped along pretty quickly and content and conversation really flowed. This is a much more, um, relaxed pace.mackerelmint wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 2:36 pmWell it's nice to have you here, Hulakatt. Seems like you've found your corner of the internet.
Anyway, for awhile now, the only guitar threads I really kept checking in on were the Show Me You Jazzmaster threads and so on.
