Jaguar pickups for surf

New to forum, please forgive me if this subject has been addressed before. I have a Classic Player Jaguar with single coils and i don’t feel that they sound like my ‘65 Jaguar I had to sell in ‘72. My question is would swapping a set of Pure Vintage ‘65 Jaguar pickups give me that 60s surf tone I’m chasing or would they just be a lateral move from the stock CP Jaguar pickups? IIRC, the Classic Player pickups were intentionally wound really hot.

The PV65's will probably come a lot closer to what you're after.
