Yup, a previous owner fixated the bridge this way to prevent buzzing and for tuning stability.
Strangely enough (?) the trem works great and the strings stays in tune.
I can’t understand what took me so long, to discover the virtues
of the offset - the jazzmaster in particular.
It’s like another dimension compared to strats and teles!
But of course everyone here knows that...
