Hi everyone,
After years of playing Teles, and the occasional dabble into other two pickup guitars, I had this sudden urge to try something different.
I was at my local and started trying out the Jazzmasters and Jags they had in stock. Both Fenders and Squiers. Seeing as I wasn't sure if this was for me or not (and I had just picked up a new AO 50s Tele) I thought I should look at the affordable end.
Long story short, after trying everything in the shop, I came away with a Surf Green Squier CV Jaguar. It's fit and finish, and overall feel, speaks of a well made and quality instrument with a surprisingly modest price tag. It's set up sucked, but I have begun to address that.
It sounds like nothing else I own and has a real character to it. I am surprisingly really happy!
I hope to pick up some good info and insights into offset ownership, thanks for having me.

Congrats on the new guitar.
I have it’s predecessor, a 2014 Squier VM Jaguar, also in surf green. Only mods I have done are a Graphtech nut, a set of Fender PV ‘65 pickups and put on a set of 11’s.

Thanks! I am a serial modifier but this time I am resisting the urge to change out pickups and the tremolo straight away.
Instead, I am working on getting the best set up for it I can. I've shimed the neck, cut the nut slots to a better depth for 11s and got the bridge set to a good height. It's a starting point!

Just a quick one for any Oz members - where's a good source of inexpensive neck shims? I didn't realise changing my bodgy business card shims for a proper full pocket shim would be so expensive!
