Hello from Philly

Hey guys,

I'm a bass player - but wanted to pick up a decent guitar for some inspiration. After some youtube searching, I found a good deal on a Squier Classic Vibe 60s Jazzmaster. When it arrived, it was in desperate need of a proper set-up. I can maintain my basses so I figured I'd so some research and try my hand at it. That research led me here ;D

I did the usual - adjusted the truss rod for proper relief, properly shielded and grounded the electronics, added a stew mac full pocket shim, raised the bridge, got heavier strings.. but I'm still getting strange fretbuzz on the low e string and the action is higher than I would like. I'm thinking it needs a new nut and some fret leveling...

Anyway, here's a picture of it - happy to be here!

Welcome!
Nice looking guitar, is that Daphne Blue?

The buzz is on the low 'E' only?

Is the buzz at every fret? If you capo @ the first fret, is it still buzzing?

Do you have a fret rocker?

Thanks! I believe it is Daphne Blue - I know it's one of the FSR colors.

"The buzz is on the low 'E' only? "
low E string - 5th, 7th, 9th fret
A string - 7th fret

"Is the buzz at every fret? If you capo @ the first fret, is it still buzzing?"
When I put the capo on, it still does buzz on a couple frets again only on the E, A string

"Do you have a fret rocker?"
Ordered one last night!
