Blue Project Idea

Post by s2focus » Mon Dec 24, 2007 11:13 am

Hi everyone - I'm new to the board, and here's my first idea for a jazzmaster project:

Fixed Strat Bridge
Dimarzio Virtual P90s
Lake Placid Blue
Mint Green Pickguard
Cream Pickup Covers & Knobs

It's cool for the most part, I personally drop the strat bridge and if you're really intent on going hardtail, going with a TOM. but that's just what I'd do.

I've thought about a tuneomatic bridge, but I don't like the look of the separate TOM bridge and stop tailpiece on a Jazzmaster.  Also, I'm considering going with a vintage-style 7.25" radius neck, and I obviously want the radius of the saddles to match...

This looks like an interesting project.

Interesting!

I think eupats Jazzblaster with toronado (?) string-thru hardtail looks like a killer - way better that a strat bridge.

- also I wonder where your output jack would be?

- I would ditch the extra tone-pot, but that's me.....

Good luck!
Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?

I used those once, and adjusting it was a major pain, and it still never felt right.  Personally i would do a TOM with string thru body ferrels, but the strat bridge is pretty trusty.

The input jack would be on the lower bout, on the side of the guitar (telecaster location).  I'm actually changing my whole plan for this guitar...it's going to be totally insane.  Pickups, Graphtech Ghost pickup, maybe a Wilkinson vibrato...more info to come...
