CoolEDit will have to go, eventually. How about some DAW recommendations?

Reaper supports VST and DX effects and instruments, Sound Forge supports VST and DX effects.

Really, for a limited budget and with limited hardware resources, Pro Tools is not an option anyway. Plus I hate anything with "Pro" in the name, it's so pretentious.

Hehe you're right about the "Pro", that's what turned me away from the program in the beginning. But then again, when I started out with Logic, I used to think "why'd they call this Logic?" SoundForge: Best wave editing program ever.
