Using impulse responses in Garageband?

This sounds like a bit of a pain in the ass, but has anybody been successful with this process or similar?

I'm running a pre-Catalina OS (Mojave 10.16.6).
I wouldn't be opposed to switching horses with recording software as long as it isn't a big investment and a steep learning curve.
