Has anyne done this? If so how did it sound?

Can you do this? I thought it only had a speaker out and the whole point was to drive a speaker at a manageable volume for recording with a mic - so I don't think the nano amp is designed for this per se . Now you could certainly use it with a speaker simulator/attenuator (i.e. THD hotplate) and go direct in that way, but I don't have one, so I can't say if it sounds good that way or not...

That is the thing i dont know. I didnt think you could do it either, but then somebody i know said he used his nano amp direct, and got ok results. He might be full of it. i have no idea.

It would definitely work with a hot plate, but then you've spent a fair amount on a direct recording setup (450 nano plus ? 300 for the THD), I think you can do better for cheaper.

yeah really.
there are a few vox practice amps that have a direct, or recording out. They can actually get some great tones, as far as a really saturated brian may tone is concerned.

emulated recording outs can sound ok, especially with cabinet modelling and all that, but to me it always leaves me wishing that the amp was actually mic'd up, especially with distortion and stuff.

I had a nano for a year, there's no output to go direct.
mic'ed through a 70s Orange 4x12 it sounded pretty amazing.

I use my nanoamp every day through a 2 x 10" cab .... contains two 10" WeberVST Alnico Blue Pup and sounds superb.
as well as my "sitting on the couch watching TV" practice amp, I have also mic'd up the cab and recorded some great guitar sounds (although I usually stay away from the "fatman" setting, a little too overdriven for my music)
